18.01.2022 We like Jane Lee Hooker and you should have a look at their latest track

17.01.2022 Eleven weeks of pre-recorded shows! Wow, and how to come up with a new theme? We have had long songs, songs about your MAMA, songs that have shuffled into a set list. Re-hashed band lists, but with a fresh round of tracks and a list of all live tracks. That's more themes than we would usually do in a year!!! So the theme this week is ELEVEN, just to mark the occasion.... Each track is the eleventh on the album it comes from, and a bright little mix it is, form Funk to Rock, Alt-Country to Folk, Pop and of course the requisite BLUES. Oh and just for a change a Jazz track from "Hots" to meet a request from Lou after last weeks Czech band Pulnoc, he asked for some Polish Jazz. And at RSFnBS-L we have a bit of everything so I'll almost guarantee you will find something this week that will please you-honest! Midnite Sun - Harvey Mandel And The Snake Crew Hip Shaking Woman - T-Model Ford TEENAGE CONFIDENTIAL - The Flamin' Groovies Sad Song - Lou Reed I Want It All - Lil' Ed & The Blues Imperials Big Mistake - Ethanol Sex And Drugs And Rock 'N' Roll - Ian Dury & The Blockheads Cry - Doyle Bramhall II with Alice Smith Easy Baby - Fiona Boyes Bad Avenue - Albert Castiglia Diuna - Hots Earnestine - Toronzo Cannon Holding Up The Sky - Buddy Miller & Julie Miller How Long? - Dave Hole Moon Coming Over The Hill - Tab Benoit Something On Your Mind - Samantha Fish Hard Times - Christone "Kingfish" Ingram A Song For You - Whiskeytown Living In Fear - Geoff Achison & The Souldiggers 6pm this Thursday, 94.1 fm 3WBC ( www.3wbc.org.au ) Music Is The BEST : FZ

17.01.2022 Hi folks, we are coming into week 7 of our prerecorded shows while the Covid-19 lockdown keeps us from broadcasting live out of the Box Hill studio. Some great feed back from you for the all women show two weeks back and last week’s mix; I’ll let you into a secret, it started as are-hash from a set list from 2017, I used all of the same artists in the same order but went back to each and selected a fresh track. I think it worked pretty well, but it’s not something we would ...do all that often and for this week’s show I employed a different method. When I was selecting live stuff I got to about four and half hours worth using my iTunes library. It was really hard to decide what to keep in, so I simply hit the shuffle button and took the first two hours of tracks and that’s what we have this week. I’m kind of fortunate as the Jeff Healey track was the impetuous for the live music theme and it made it into the mix- all I really changed was grouping a few tracks into an Aussie bracket 1 - Fired Up! - Royal Southern Brotherhood 2 - Blue, Blue World - Roomful Of Blues 3 - Ways About You - Mike Zito 4 - It Takes Time [Live] - Michael Bloomfield 5 - Murder by Numbers - Frank Zappa 6 - Time (Live) - Doyle Bramhall II - 7 - Bone Pickin' - Jimmy Thackery & Tab Benoit 8 - So Excited [Live] - Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble 9 - Down in the Swamp - Dani Wilde 10 - Whipping Post - Jeff Healey 11 - Will It Ever Change - Luther Allison 12 - Hell Or High Water (Live) - Tinsley Ellis 13 - She's Too Busy (Live) - Smokin' Joe Kubek & Bnois King 14 - The March - Robert Randolph & The Family Band 15 - You Drive A Hard Bargain - Robben Ford 16 - Key To Your Heart - Bondi Cigars 17 - Jungle - Geoff Achison & The Souldiggers 18 - It Takes A Lot To Laugh It Takes A Train To Cry - Chris Wilson 19 - The Width Of A Circle - David Bowie 20 - Stone Love - Ruthie Foster So we hit the airwaves at about 6pm on Thursday, catch us at 94.1 fm or stream the show at www.3WBC.org.au Remember:- Music Is The BEST: FZ

14.01.2022 So you could say that this weeks show is very "Melbourne", or that we are reflecting the current mood with the lockdown (which hopefully will be over and done by the time we go to air). Reality is, neither of these is the prompt for our theme. I just happened to listen to a great version of Black Night by Snooks Eaglin and was tempted to run it, but then kept finding more Black Tracks- so a theme was born. Sadly, Snooks got lost in the mix. Black Friday Steely Dan Paint ...it Black Rolling Stones Black Venom The Budos Band Into The Black Ethanol Black Night Lil' Ed & The Blues Imperials Blackmail Man Ian Dury & The Blockheads Black Witch Otis Taylor Black Eyed Susie Sean Chambers Black's Ball J.B. Hutto And The New Hawks Big Black Train Three Kings Black Dog Blues Russell Morris Black Velvet Charles Bradley Black Wind Howlin' Samantha Fish Black Toppin' The Cash Box Kings There is way more music than the second hour of the show will afford me so some of these will just have to wait for maybe the next show, but what will get played is almost guaranteed to be enjoyable So you know the routine, join us at 6pm this Thursday on 94.1 fm 3WBC, or stream us at www.3WBC.org.au, or download the app from the 3WBC web site. See you then Remember- Music Is The BEST: FZ

13.01.2022 There's been a lot of trouble lately. We got ourselves into trouble with a virus here in Melbourne, but thankfully it looks like we've now got out of trouble. There's also been a bit of trouble over there in the US with their election result. If someone is found to have been involved in fraud, they may well be in trouble.... Troubling, isn't it? With all this trouble around, we thought it worthy of a theme for our show this week. It's amazing how, after a bit of research, just how troubled the lives of our musicians are!! So let's have a look at my set list for this week... A woman named trouble - Bernard Allison If trouble was money - Gary Clark Jr Trouble, trouble - Son Seals Trouble - Kingfish Too much trouble - Van Morrison Trouble and whisky - Sean Chambers If trouble was money - Albert Collins I'm also squeezing in a Midnite Oil track in memory of Bones Hillman, the Oil's bassist who passed away this week, plus I'm playing a track from local man Mark Gardner who has released a ripper new album called State of Emergency, written during the Covid lockdown. So plenty of reasons to join me and Brother Adrian on this week's show! We're on air from 6 this Thursday, 94.1fm 3WBC Rock is

13.01.2022 Ade was out of the blocks early with his setlist for tonight, so I apologize for lagging a bit with mine - hope it's worth the wait! To kick things off, a bit of Australian rock with the Cosmik Psychos, then a bit of Borich. After that, I'm switching to some cool, lo-fi New York bar music with a take on Blondiés Rapture, Kicks from Lou Reed, and a track from Elmore Judd's Insect Funk album Then it's blues from Selwyn Birchwood, Tinsley Ellis, Jay Jesse Johnson, and Billy Gibb...ons. I invite you to tune in - from 6 tonight on 94.1fm 3WBC Rock is

12.01.2022 Well folks, here we are, looking at week number three with a pre-recorded show. There has been a few interruptions to the last two shows and hopefully we can get a full show over the airwaves. Its a slightly different approach doing the show from the living room, but the common thing is being able to play some sh1t hot music, so join me while I sit on the couch and listen in to me: Thursday night from 6pm on 3WBC 94.1 or stream it on www3wbc.org.au... see if some of this takes your fancy: Facebook Woman Linsey Alexander If You Got A Jealous Woman Facebook Ain't Your Friend The Cash Box Kings Computer Girl Lil' Ed & The Blues Imperials Resentment File Rick Estrin & The Nightcats Anything To Say You're Mine Etta James Ice Water In Your Veins Ruth Brown Don't Mess with My Man Irma Thomas Motherless Children The Slide Brothers Motherless Children Have a Hard Time Jeff Lang Tip-Walk Roy Rogers Drive Denny Freeman Stumptown Slither Sultans Of Slide Windows Anders Osborne Misha Bella Geoff Achison Turn That Damn Thing Off Jaimi Faulkner On The Run Ashley Davies Salmon Song Madder Lake Still Point Chris Whitley back lane Ethanol Nature's Natural Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears A Real Mother For Ya Johnny "Guitar" Watson The Things That I Used To Do Guitar Slim The Usual George Thorogood Guitar King Michael Bloomfield Remember, Music Is The BEST:FZ

11.01.2022 HAVE YOU HEARD THE NEWS! IT’S GREAT TO BE BACK! The Oak Tree Tavern

10.01.2022 Hi all, a massive show coming up this week. Last week Melbourne's fickle weather played havoc with the streaming service but free to air was still going out. Most of you got to hear Mavis Staples before the storms hit and the response to her track has been surprising, so I am running two more from Mavis this week. Long time listener Vivienne even suggested I run an all women show, so I have. It has been a very hard call on what to include and sadly who to leave for another... show, but the list below features some amazing voices, there's something about gritty female voices- just think Janis Joplin, when you hear Susan Tedeschi. I have tried to be even handed with musical styles from the folkiness of Tiddas and Heart to bluesy classics like Etta and Koko. I'm sure there is plenty to keep everyone happy. I'm a Stranger Here Fiona Boyes I'm Burning Samantha Fish Dangerous Lindsay Beaver Beware Etta James Ernestine Taylor, Koko No Deposit, No Return Katie Webster 81 Sue Foley Blues Is Blues Kellie Rucker Nickel And A Nail Ruthie Foster Portland Oregon Loretta Lynn Keep On Pushing Mavis Staples A House Is Not A Home Mavis Staples Pieces Trixie Whitley King Pizel Kaki King The Ghost The Bamboos Go On Cry Heart She The Pretenders & Emmylou Harris Hold Her Close Tiddas Maybe He'll Be Happier Yolanda Ingley II Talking About Susan Tedeschi Constant Craving k.d. lang You Didn't Try To Call Me Bianca Odin Shake A Hand Lou Ann Barton Walking, Walking Goldie Zelkowitz So, I'll see you at 6pm this Thursday for edition #5 of the lockdown pre-recorded version of the show. 3WBC 94.1 fm or stream it: www.3wbc.org.au Remember- Music Is The BEST: FZ

09.01.2022 Just because we are all in lock down here in Melbourne and a curfew limits our movements doesn't mean we are slacking off with the show. We might sound a little stilted as we run pre recorded shows and you might miss brother Simon's and Harry "Q" Holden's dulcet tones, but I am doing my darnedest to continue with bringing the best array of Blues and Rock 'n Funk that I can. To keep you up to speed, this is what is slated for this week's show, a couple of double plays, no L...ou or Frank, but a few interesting tracks nevertheless: Money To Burn Samantha Fish Place to Fall Samantha Fish Going Back to My Old Time Used to Be Linsey Alexander I Can't Quit You Baby Linsey Alexander Loom Somali Yacht Club My People Doyle Bramhall II Red Right Hand Snoop Dogg Higgs Boson Blues Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds Walking Blues Chris Wilson & Geoff Achison Intensive Care Bondi Cigars Tom Moore Blues Lightnin' Hopkins I Feel Good Again Jr. Kimbrough & Charlie Feathers Old Black Mattie Junior Kimbrough Blues For Jeanette Lil' Ed & The Blues Imperials I Don't Know Why J.B. 08.01.2022 Many of these tracks could have been written with almost any of the significant issues of our times. 07.01.2022 Ade's got himself well and truly organised with a killer set list, which means I need to let you know what I have planned for the first hour. No set theme this week, though I thought I'd dabble with a mini-theme built around the times in which we live, so I'm playing a couple of tracks relating to the theme of wearing masks... So...... 06.01.2022 Well folks I've been at it again- Its now 6 weeks in a row that I have been running solo, preparing the show on Monday and Tuesday nights as a prerecorded fill for the usual mayhem we get up to when actually live in the studio. Its almost as much fun doing the selections but I am nowhere as good with the musical patter when I am talking to a laptop screen and the music isn't booming through the studio. But I am still trying to bring y'all a diverse range of music albeit from... only my library. Rest assured, the first "live in studio" show will be hosted by Harry Q Holden and feature as much as he can possibly cram in- in 2 hours(and you never know if this curfew continues we might be sneaking some Macedonian Showtime). Anyway I hope you can tune in Thursday night and some of this list, is music that gets you where you live! 03.01.2022 Hi folks, doing the show weekly from the living room entails a bit of thought and inspiration to come to you with a theme that's interesting and listenable. I gotta say I kind of fluked it this week. After last weeks "live" showing I was having a good listen to more Doyle Bramhall II, and came across his song "Mama Can't Help You". Bingo- new theme "MAMA", and there you have it. With more than two hours of music it was easy to make a broad selection, so I went about trying... for a mix of some known tracks, but with the majority being little heard numbers. So join me on the mission of discovery and maybe you'll hear something new to your ears, or some music that maybe you had forgotten. Either way its been fun to put together so I hope you can listen in this Thursday from 6pm on 3WBC 94.1 fm or stream us at www.3wbc.org Hey Mama, Keep Your Big Mouth Shut - The Pretty Things Mama Can't Help You - Doyle Bramhall II Waitin' On You Mama - Sam Myers Run To Your Mama - GOAT Red Hot Mama - Sean Chambers Mama Don't - J.J.
