20.01.2022 This week, Zak Kirkup MP and the Liberals called on the State Government to implement 6 constructive measures to help keep Western Australians safe. The State Government has now implemented 2 of our measures, but there are still 4 more immediate changes that should be made to better protect and support our community. Western Australians expected that our response in WA would have been the most organised, most thought out, most prepared response to an outbreak in the country b...ecause the State Government has had 10 months to get ready, to get prepared and to ensure that we have the supplies and people we need to respond. Western Australians deserve the best. Implementing all 6 of our measures is the best way to keep WA safe.

15.01.2022 Latest update from DFES.

11.01.2022 Our small and family businesses need assistance now. The $500 credit announced today just isn’t enough for small and family businesses who have carried the financial burden of the lockdown because of the failure of the quarantine system, and not all small businesses may be able to access it. Other states have rolled out assistance packages of up to $10,000, sometimes more than once.... We all know the Federal Government stepped in and did the heavy lifting with JobKeeper and JobSeeker. WA small and family businesses deserve this same support from the WA State Government. After the toughest year, small and family businesses need help now and so do their staff. Western Australians deserve the best, we have had time to plan and prepare to deliver the best.

07.01.2022 The new restrictions kicking in tomorrow 5 February from 6pm (pending testing results).

03.01.2022 PLEASE NOTE this warning has been updated. For the latest information visit www.emergency.wa.gov.au -- --... Update time: 12:39 AM, 06/02/21 A bushfire EMERGENCY WARNING is current for people in parts of AVON VALLEY NATIONAL PARK, BRIGADOON, BULLSBROOK, GIDGEGANNUP, UPPER SWAN and WALYUNGA NATIONAL PARK in the CITY OF SWAN. You are in danger and need to act immediately to survive. There is a threat to lives and homes. WHAT TO DO: - You need to shelter in your home in a room away from the fire front and make sure you can easily escape. - You must shelter before the fire arrives as the extreme heat will kill you well before the flames reach you. - Close all doors and windows and turn off evaporative air conditioners, but keep water running through the system if possible. - Choose a room with two exits and water such as a kitchen or laundry. - If your home catches on fire and the conditions inside become unbearable, you need to get out and go to an area that has already been burnt. - Protect yourself by wearing long sleeves and trousers, made from cotton or wool, and strong leather boots. - For people in or around the intersections of Clenton Road, O'Brien Road and Ewing Road, you need to be aware that there is still uncontained fire activity. If you plan to leave, leave now if the way is clear by travelling in a direction away from the fire. - For people in the remainder of the Emergency Warning area, if you are not prepared or you plan to leave, leave now if the way is clear by travelling in a direction away from the fire to a safer place. This applies to ALL people in this area, including people who have been directed to self-isolate or self-quarantine and everyone subject to COVID-19 lockdown restrictions. - If you are in an area subject to COVID-19 lockdown restrictions leave now, to a suitable premises or safer place, wear a mask and continue to follow precautions to minimise the spread of the virus. If you have been personally directed to self-isolate or self-quarantine due to COVID-19 - Leave now, find alternative suitable premises and wear a mask. - If you are unable to return to your quarantine location within one hour, telephone WA Police on 131 444 to advise them you have had to leave due to an emergency. - Regardless of your location, continue to follow COVID-19 precautions and maintain appropriate physical distancing. ---AND--- A bushfire WATCH AND ACT is current for people in parts of AVON VALLEY NATIONAL PARK, BAILUP, BRIGADOON, BULLSBROOK, GIDGEGANNUP and UPPER SWAN in the SHIRE OF MUNDARING and the CITY OF SWAN.
