21.01.2022 Weathers looking good, bars and pubs are opening up in Melbourne- let’s pretend we didn’t all drink more during lockdown so I can segue into how drinking fits into health and fitness Big question that pops up when we start working on nutrition is alcohol, more specifically; Do you need to give up alcohol to be ‘healthy’ or to lose weight?... That’s a big resounding NOOOO From a purely fat loss standpoint, alcohol is just calories- pretty empty nutrient wise- but still just calories, so as long as it fits, have a cheeky drink or two. If you go over your calories because of drinks, just account for that the next few days If it’s performance you’re after though- like prep for your footy season, then focus is on a nutrient rich diet and alcohol is basically empty calories so it’s not the most helpful thing to have on the regular when we want you in peak mode. That being said, if those two aren’t your primary goals and you just want to be a regular human being with a balanced diet without worrying if alcohol is good or bad- just relax and have a drink (or 4) See more

20.01.2022 The point of training Should be to build a stronger, healthier and fitter version of yourself. Let’s just kindly fuck off the idea that training is about punishing yourself for stuff you ate, or about flogging yourself to see the scales drop.... Exercise is a celebration of what our bodies can achieve when we work and push ourselves. Plus, exercise is probably the way more inefficient way to actually lose fat because a) you’re not burning as many calories as you think you are and b) it’s a lot simpler and easier to just consume a little less calories So switch up how you view training. Because you’ll get alot more enjoyment out of lifting heavy shit, or pushing yourself on your runs if it’s all in service of a stronger and better you See more

18.01.2022 Merry Christmas everyone Have a fantastic day of family time, drinks and lots of food

17.01.2022 Tell me what you want, instead of what you don’t want. When we all go and set goals for next year- let’s use the best language You don’t want to be fat? Cool, what do you want to be? You don’t want to be weak, great! What do you want to be?... Working towards something will always be stronger, more motivating and more rewarding than working away from something. Away from is fear, towards is excitement and growth. So get clear on what you want, instead of what you don’t want See more

15.01.2022 Melbourne fam this one is for you I get it, its the first week of gyms being open and ya’ll are excited to lift something other than backpacks and fake dumbbells, or just to train in general. Buuuuut simple truth is, unless you had access to a good home gym set up, your body isn’t used to what you were doing pre-iso.... So train accordingly, train smart. Build back up with progressive overload, PATIENTLY, to where you were at over the next few weeks. AKA- Chill the fuck out son. Because I guarantee, if you feel impatient waiting 1-2 weeks to lift your old weights again...... ........then you’ll be reeeaaallly annoyed having to wait 1-2 months because you injured yourself going too hard too quickly See more

15.01.2022 Wanna be stronger, and/or be toned. Better buckle up and be ready to accept a phase of being a little bit heavier in pursuit of GAINING. Strength is the proce...ss of muscle adaptation to progressive overload, which must be fuelled by sufficient calorie intake or your recovery is gonna be trash and you’ll probably get injured. Toned is what most females use to describe muscle definition. You can’t have muscle definition without muscle. So no, weight loss isn’t always the answer, in fact, it’s very rarely the answer. So here’s a pic of me 12kg heavier than last summer lifting possibly double what I was last year so it’s cool.

11.01.2022 PROTEIN....have more One thing I find a lot with new clients (particularly girls) is that people arnt having anywhere near enough protein in their diets. Proteins main job is muscle repair and build your body’s tissue so if you’re wanting to build your fitness and strength then it’s a big must.... If you’re wanting to go into a fat loss phase, protein helps you 1) stay fuller for longer and 2) make sure that your body is using stored fat as energy, not muscle (don’t let your body steal your gains man) So how much should you have? Basic rule is minimum of 1.5 grams per kilo of body weight but optimum amount would be between 1.75-2.5 grams per kilo Yes this will mean you need to tweak and play with your diet, because the western world fucking loves a diet dominated by carbs and fats.... and why this is absolutely fine to have these, they probably shouldn’t play the huge role they do to the detriment of protein intake. Pictured above is a cheeky example of a super easy meal filled with protein and good fats- eggs in a ham cup- that you can use If you want this as an updated recipe, comment below and I’ll get on it! 10.01.2022 Look, you like carbs, they taste great and they give you energy. They do not, in any way- make you fat. That’s some dumb ketard level pseudoscience. The that makes you fat is...... .... You will hold more weight on the scales with carbs because carbs need water, so it’s not fat, it’s water. Carbs include- bread, rice, pasta, potatoes (god tier vegetable), pumpkin and pretty much every other veggie. Also pizza (god tier food) If your diet can have carbs in it, you’ll be happier and have more energy to train- both of which are great. So why would you ever cut them out? So when some ball bag PT or your mate Sharon says that cutting carbs helps you lose fat, you can look them right in their dead, uncarbed eyes and tell them to go eat a piece of bread for the first time in 6 years and be less miserable P.S Don’t be mean to Pizza See more

07.01.2022 Small steady changes, compound over time to the biggest transformations. You cannot fuck this up you got this

06.01.2022 Just find me standing on a roof somewhere screaming there are no shortcuts into the void for a few hours

06.01.2022 OWN YA WINS (You ungrateful bastard ) You right now are out there doing awesome things with your nutrition and making awesome progress in the gym, but because of some limiting belief system about be humble or not wanting to brag, you won’t take ownership of that.... I mean you could take ownership of your wins and get so much more enjoyment out of the whole process instead of just stressing about the end result..... or not See more

04.01.2022 Strong strong ladies Another killer Saturday morning sesh from this stellar crew! Since opening up we’ve had a big shift in our training style and the reception has been fantastic!... I’ve loved the way that the ladies have really embraced lifting and the idea of getting strong and building more muscle instead of always aiming for skinny or getting toned It’s super easy to get lads lifting weights but the mindset shift from the girls has been fantastic! Here’s to more barbells and more weights! See more

04.01.2022 The question today- will I get bulky if I lift weights as a woman. Fuck no- lift the weights and eat the food This is an old video but we’ve had a lot of new followers since then so this is for you.

02.01.2022 Ho Ho Ho ’ , Real fun Christmas/eating hack- if you’re worried about binging or going overboard on food at a certain event (like Christmas lunch)....... Then don’t restrict yourself leading up to it. This is how to beat the classic restrict, binge, restrict cycle, so you can focus instead on enjoying Christmas Day for the family, presents, food and dranks (get on the beers) If you’re worried about getting fat from one day- don’t. One salad never made anyone skinny, so one big meal won’t make you fat See more
