18.01.2022 One of the iconic landmarks around Perth. No matter if you are SOR or NOR most people would recognize this place would you not? There was a myth that the dingo ...was painted by Alan Bond. Not so, it was painted by an artist by the name of Les Nash in 1940 for 40.During World War II, in 1943, the sign had to be painted out as part of the war precautions.After the war, in 1946, using the still visible outline of the original, the dingo was repainted by Fred Parnell of Parnell Signs, who gave it an eye. I think it is heritage listed now so we should not see this building disappear. See more

16.01.2022 I had a request for some Americas Cup footage. Here is the christening of Australia IV in Fremantle Harbour. Australia II was there and you can clearly see the Auld Mug (Americas Cup) and Alan and Eileen Bond. I love the Swan Premium Lager Spinnakers. Those where the days!!

Servo reminds us of another era. Vastly different looking now of course. Further down the road toward the Fremantle Traffic Bridge was the Plympton Hotel which is now the Tradewinds of course.
