19.01.2022 CLIMATE SCIENCE LESSON ONE: CO2 is a greenhouse gas. Greenhouse gases absorb radiant heat that would otherwise make its way into the cold blackness of space. Without greenhouse gases the earth would be a ball of ice. with too much CO2 there would be no ice. (Hint: Ice is melting everywhere.)... For the last 50 million years CO2 has never exceeded 300 parts per million of the atmosphere. For all of Civilised life on Earth (approx 10,000 years) CO2 has never exceeded 280ppm. 280ppm of CO2 is the Goldilocks amount, the just right amount for forests, worms, whales and us. 350ppm is the maximum amount before forests, worms, whales and us start to severely suffer. Today CO2 is 395ppm, ie 195ppm, or 60%+, above Civilised levels. As a result the Earth is on its way to being hotter than it's been since the dinosaurs and being very uncivilised. Climate changes and that changes the nature and distribution of life. That has happen dramatically in the past for unavoidable reason. Now it's changing for avoidable reasons. LINKS: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/climate-change/guide http://www.csiro.au//Understanding/Climate-is-changing.aspx That's enough links unless you are really keen. If you are try this from The Royal Society: http://royalsociety.org///publications/2010/4294972962.pdf

11.01.2022 "Hey! How ya doin'? Anybody in from Nebraska? No? Alright! Movin' on. Politics! What's that about? Boom-boom!" That's the opening of my new Comedy Festival show. Exactly 60 minutes later ( I'm famous for my forensic accuracy) the show ends with, "You've been a great audience. Goodnight." In between the Great Barrier Reef will continue dying while you're seduced by my effortless hilarity, entranced by the spectacle of my mono-media extravaganza and trained in anti-Government s...ubversion, regime change and anarchist collectivism. (Rod would like to thank the Abbott Government, the Mining Council and the Petroleum Industry Association etc for their inspiration.) Opens Thursday - TIX: http://bit.ly/1k7nrAk

10.01.2022 This is the great climate change breakthrough... For the first time science has link a natural disaster to human-induced climate change. (http://www.nature.com/news/2011/110216/full/470316a.html) The event, the floods that devastated Southern England and Wales. In 2000!!! That's 11 years ago. It took that long to 'prove' what we suspected and now clearly know. TELL ANDREW BOLT!
