04.01.2022 Do you know what to do when an emergency response vehicle is approaching? Emergency response vehicles (ERVs) are driven by police, firefighters and paramedics. All emergency response vehicles using lights and sirens are responding to an emergency. They NEVER practise with their lights and/or sirens on. Traffic regulations state that drivers must give way to, or move out of the path of, emergency vehicles using lights and/or sirens as soon as it is safe to do so, yes you can ...proceed to carefully enter an intersection if safe to do so on a red signal.
