12.01.2022 COVID-19 Electrical Services UPDATED NOTICE from Paul RoJess Electrical 12 May 2020 Dear Customers, As from this week COVID-19 restrictions have been eased again. While still applying social distance rules, I have resumed full electrical services with particular attention to our local elderly community. As WINTER has arrived and the usage of electricity increases, a few things need to be checked, from your electric blanket to your electrical heater as well as any power points... or switches that are damaged or any light fittings that do not working properly, your switch board fuse and circuit breakers. This is to ensure your SAFETY SWITCHES are still working correctly. If you see or notice any burns or strange smells coming from your switch board, get a local licenced electrician to inspect. Do not forget that this month is the month for SMOKE DETECTOR BATTERY REPLACEMENT... so make sure your SMOKE DETECTORS are in good working condition and are not out of date (detectors need to be replaced every 10 years) and replace your battery. PLEASE NOTE THERE IS AN ALARMING AMOUNT OF CASES WHERE PEOPLE REPLACE THE EXISTING ELECTRICAL CONNECTED SMOKE DETECTOR WITH BATTERY ONLY OPERATING SMOKE DETECTORS. If your home was built after 1986, it will have at least one hard wired smoke alarm connected directly to your electrical panel. It is not acceptable to replace a hard wired alarm with one that is battery operated. A home must maintain at least the same level of protection as originally required. 01.01.2022 Water as penetrate this outdoor light switch, inside we find additional power point line cable joint. Both electrical line where not protected by safety switches.When I touch the enclosure of the switch it was very hot due to the short circuit created by the water inside the switch box. The power on both lights and power point line still ON and electriticy was running true the fuses in the meter box they did not break the electrical circuit . The customer was not awere of what was going on in si back yard.
