25.01.2022 What customers say as they are leaving...

25.01.2022 For those who like a country drive and a good cause!

25.01.2022 Dear community members, This is just to let you all know Roley Hardware will be closed until about 1:30 pm this afternoon. I am attending a memorial service and my go-to "look after the shop without me" helper is not available to work today. It takes months of experience before staff feel comfortable being there without my backup. Who ever knew that selling hardware could be so challenging.

24.01.2022 Proteas are back!

24.01.2022 This is a stunning photo. Coppicing and pollarding are possible with gum trees too!

23.01.2022 Plastic Free July Day 3 Biodegradeable plant pots - while stocks last!

22.01.2022 Obligatory Selfie Taking a cool break in the shade with my plants after receiving the cement order... thanks Ben & Jordan for being such great helpers!

20.01.2022 Plastic Free July Day 2 "Small moves Ellie, small moves". One of my favourite quotes from one of my favourite movies (Contact). Here's a small product that suits the concept!

18.01.2022 Happy Springtime everyone! With 20-20 vision let's all help keep our local small businesses open.

18.01.2022 Does anyone need cardboard boxes? My back shed is overflowing and I need to make space for the next cement order...

16.01.2022 A small miracle happened today - I was delivered some vege seedlings! They are mostly small but they look really healthy. No holds - now they are available it will continue to be so. Maybe next week I will get some methylated spirits and vege seeds :)

15.01.2022 Sunday 16th August is my 10 year anniversary at Roley Hardware. So I've decided to take the day off. This decision has nothing whatsoever to do with the current forecast for Sunday... haha. So see you all any other day until the next public holiday!

15.01.2022 Plastic free July Day 4 "Made by hand in Germany" At last. a proper metal watering can, and it doesn't even cost the Earth! (Well, it's less than a Mercedes anyway)

14.01.2022 Apologies everyone who missed out on vege seedlings this morning. I will post as soon as I have more. In the mean time there are still herbs and flower punnets and also hardware

12.01.2022 Here is a challenge for the gardeners amongst you! Each of these plants has a consumable use. Can you identify all of them?

11.01.2022 Concerned about contagious diseases? 1. Sanitizer that is used in medical labs around the world Mix 350 ml methylated spirits and 150 ml water in a spray bottle (that is a 70:30 ratio if you want to make a different volume). You can add drops of essential oil if you'd like it to have a perfume. You can use a moisturiser cream if your hands are getting dried out. You can use this on any hard surface if you need a sterile environment. 2. Shop at your local hardware store. Guaranteed never more than about 3 people in here at any time except right after Greg delivers new plants from the nursery

10.01.2022 It’s a good weekend to refresh your vegies and add a few more house plants to your Christmas list!

09.01.2022 So Ive had a few questions about this sign from people who read the bottom line and thought it meant I intended to close down. I want to live in a community that has a hardware store and I know that you do too, thats why youve connected to my page and you come in regularly to shop, and therefore why its open 7 days a week (except public holidays; Im an aging mortal) and has such a wide stock range. So yes, there is a For Lease sign out the front of the shops. But please,... take as much notice of that sign as the Commercial development sign that is falling over on the empty block next door. Continue with me, to support this local, community-oriented business. In time, perhaps the landlord will develop some common sense about the local economy and agree to the lease at a fair market rental rate (which I am now paying month to month) that I offered to sign months ago! And thanks to my mentors, Greg, Mike, Carole and Harry, who have advised and supported me at different stages through the negotiations so that I have had the courage to persist. See more

08.01.2022 I am proud to announce that Roleystone community support of our local Hardware store has increased by more than 50% over the last few months. The flow-on effects of having more sales include that I can order more stock, keep reducing prices and start to offer occasional employment opportunities. I rely on your feedback to keep improving what's on offer and thats why the garden section is growing! Have a great weekend everyone and I'll see you soon.

08.01.2022 Indoor & shade loving plants available, also a selection of spring colours in hanging baskets!

07.01.2022 It's Plastic Free July. Day 1, grow real plants inside ! They help clean the air you breathe and add a calming ambience to any room. If you have trouble keeping plants alive come in for a chat and leave with confidence!

07.01.2022 Green gifts are the bestest!

06.01.2022 The other vegie punnets just arrived if you are still looking! Beetroot, broccoli, kale, carrot, pak choi, parsley, cauliflower, silverbeet, spinach...

06.01.2022 My new range of knit glass fibre gloves from Morris Outside https://www.morrisoutside.com.au/ pass the stinging nettle test! Also available, their extended range of XXS and XXL gloves for the diverse hands in our community, bee-keeper gloves, pruning gauntlets and oilskin boot guards for both large and small people. I will be placing my next order soon so add yours to my list and save the postage fee for a different purpose!

05.01.2022 You asked me for a wider range of paints & so here they are! The first order anyway, & now I’m collating further suggestions! Sue@Roley Hard,Garden&Artware

05.01.2022 Unpacking a large order ... and discovered the warehouse finally has most vege seeds!!! (And my cement order was delivered too). Feeling stocked!

03.01.2022 FYI, when the wind gusts start tomorrow I will be closing. But open at 10am approx. as usual. Stay safe everyone and please don't park under the Shopping Centre car park trees, especially the ones that are leaning.

02.01.2022 The next batch of seedlings has arrived!!

02.01.2022 When customers ask for an item I don’t stock, I start looking for it. When I’ve been asked a few times, if I think I can fit it in then I order it. So please ask if you don’t see what you need. It might be in a box still waiting for me to find the shelf space. So, for example, these quick-fit drill bits. Still in a box...
