16.01.2022 Our incredible Local Businesses! 2020 has been tough but it reiterates just how important it is to have the support of our local business. Drop a Dollar was intending to launch our charity buckets Interstate and National this year but.... we had to cancel that pretty quickly given the circumstances. This is why we decided to launch our Thank You and Merry Christmas campaign in an attempt to raise some much needed funds and bring a little Hope for those who need it. 15.01.2022 Are you struggling with yet another lockdown? As much as it sucks, Iso ain’t as bad as you think, as you are only limited by your own capacity. Instead of focusing on everything we can’t do, try focusing on the things you can do. This is a good time to do the things you have been putting off for ages like that hobby you’ve been wanting to start, that job around the house you’ve not had the time for, or it could even be a simple as binge watching some Netflix. Yesterday I ...did something I haven’t done in ages! It was a pearla of a day so I decided to go for a casual roll along our beautiful coastline. As I do (a bit frequently) I might have pushed myself a bit too hard and am feeling it today, but you know what, I felt great at the time and enjoyed every minute of it Try and make the most of this time for yourself and maybe reconnecting with those you haven’t spoken to in ages. We will get through this together, you just gotta believe and do the right thing! 15.01.2022 Regardless of what happened a fortnight ago, we did it! Another Great Illawarra Walk done and dusted, 47.4 km in just over 7 hours There was no way we were gonna miss this one! With the beautiful smile of Saving Chloe Saxby on the back, she gave us and those that we passed the strength to keep us going You are one strong family Ny, Grant & Mads, it’s hard to imagine a community without people like you guys, love ya lots and keep up the good work xo ... A special mention to another strong fighter, Holly who suffers from the same devastating condition as Chloe had, Vanishing White Matters Disease. Such a beautifully young girl and family. I hope you devoured that Banana, Walnut and Choccy muffin I made It has been a bit tough after my recent episode but I haven’t let that hold me back, because I know that the moment you stop, it is so hard to get the wheels turning again. You gotta keep going no matter how hard it can be... as there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. 10.01.2022 UNITED NATIONS AGREES - MEDICINAL CANNABIS - No longer a risky narcotic! As of today the United Nations has changed the regulatory status of Cannabis! The World Health Organisation has made several recommendations around Cannabis but most of these did not get the nod from the UN but they have at least formally recognised that Cannabis has health benefits and as such, is officially no longer considered a Schedule IV Prohibited Substance.... What does this mean? Scientific studies will be much easier to arrange because the raw material required will be easier to get a hold of. It also means that businesses will be more readily able to invest. 06.01.2022 Making the most of it Woke to an absolute pearla this morning, so instead of being stuck inside like an overloaded hermit crab like I have been, my brother and I decided to go for a bit of an adventure and take some time to just enjoy the day. I can’t express enough how good it feels to take some down time and enjoy the day, it’s a rarity for me. ... The last few months have been full on... and today is a reminder of how important it is to look after yourself, physically and mentally. 06.01.2022 Did the MND Walk this morning! I rolled the first half and then managed to walk the rest of the way back. I’m pretty sore and feelin it, but I’m glad I challenged myself and even prouder of the fact that I did it! I managed to get through it thanks to my Shining4Sharn pin, I know she was lookin down. Miss ya lots ... It was a great turnout and so good to catchup with everyone, thanks everyone for the support and helping to find a cure for MND.
