24.01.2022 Researchers from the University of Queensland are looking for athletes with disability to take part in a 20-30 minute online survey. The survey explores the attitudes and perceived barriers and enablers towards sport psychology consultancy. The purpose of this research is to provide sport psychologists and researchers with a better understanding of those factors currently preventing and enabling successful athlete engagement with sport psychology services. ... It is hoped that this increased knowledge will inform strategies that will provide athletes with and without disability with improved access to performance enhancing and sport-specific mental health services in the future. To take part you must: a) have participated in a minimum of two hours of organised sport training or competition per week spread between at least two sessions during either the current or past sporting season. b) be over the age of 18. c) have not been diagnosed with an intellectual disability or impairment. You can access the research materials using link below:

20.01.2022 Regarding Suncoast Spinners Tournament January 2020: Nick Such has advised yesterday that Qld Juniors are now not required to play with a Qld Juniors Team for this tournament. Should you have a regular team to play for, then please nominate to play with that team. Eg if you are from Rockhampton then nominate for the Rockwheelers. With the rules surrounding Premier Grade and A Grade, this decision has been made based on the need for players to remain at their ‘home’ team as a ...priority. Should you not have a team to play for/with, then we will form a Qld Juniors team or find a team for you. Qld Rolling Thunder program coaches will be in attendance to watch and scout games with view of selection of players into the Qld team/s for Kevin Coombs Cup. If you have any questions please shoot Nick Suich an email. Spinners nominations close Thurs 31 October (next week)
20.01.2022 Everything is in readiness for the final day of the tournament with the Kevin Coombs Cup being fought out between Western Australia and QLD South Rolling Thunder. After advancing to the gold medal game unbeaten last year before falling to the Vics, WA have the chance for redemption and they come into this year's final without a loss once again. They proved too strong for NSW in the Semi-Final, succeeding by 13 points as they hold off a late charge from their opponents who won... the final term 20-3. QLD South did not have it as easy, beating Victoria by just a point as they finished on an 8-4 run behind 28 combined points from Lachlin Dalton and Eithen Leard. That answered the best efforts of Jaylen Brown (14 points, 17 rebounds, eight assists) and Teisha Shadwell (11 points, 13 boards, six steals). Credit: Suncoast Spinners Wheelchair Basketball Inc.

12.01.2022 The Kevin Coombs Cup got underway yesterday. Thanks to Suncoast Spinners Wheelchair Basketball Inc. For the update! Aiming to improve on their silver medal finish from last year, WA have set the tone in the Kevin Coombs Cup with two wins on Day 1, led by national players Andrew Dewberry (18.5 points per game) and Thomas McHugh (15 points). QLD South also got off to a hot start, defeating the QLD/SA composite side and NSW in a tight contest.... NSW jumped out to a seven-point lead at quarter-time but QLD South quickly reeled in the deficit with a 19-5 second term as Eithan Leard finished with 23 points, nine rebounds, four assists and five steals in the 63-54 victory. That second victory helped give them some early separation on the ladder ahead of NSW and Victoria who sit third and fourth respectively on 1-1.
