23.01.2022 Approximately 5 years ago, I moved out of home, leaving Kuru behind. After 2 years, I noticed a gradual decline from happy-healthy pup to a terrified, anxiety filled dog that was scared of everything. He wasn’t getting walked or socialised, which mainly contributed to his decline in mental health. In an attempt to rectify this, I would visit home regularly to get him out and about and socialising with other dogs. One day whilst we were out and about, he was randomly atta...cked by a big dog and this completely ruined his confidence in people and dogs. He turned into a horribly terrified dog that would get aggressive at anyone or anything that was foreign and appeared a threat to him. It became an embarrassment to take him out anywhere as he would bark/snarl/attack people and other animals, and people would just make the assumption that he’s got small dog syndrome or poorly trained. After this unfortunate incident, I decided it was no longer a good environment for him, and took him to live with me. Since then, I have learnt that just like humans, dogs take time, energy and effort to rebuild confidence and help overcome anxiety. Thankfully, a good friend of mine recommended Paws Adventure Daycare - Adelaide to me and I am so appreciative and grateful of their work, efforts and energy that they pour into caring for your dog and ensuring that they have a great adventure out and about! At home, I have used the tips and advice of positive reinforcement and clicker training to help work him through his issues. Kuru has also had weekly group sessions the past 10 months or so, and although he’s still got things to work on with his anxiety, he’s not the cowardly-aggressive dog he once was. I am so proud of how far he has come and its all thanks to the beautiful team, Leah and his handler Rose at Paws Adventure! 22.01.2022 My my my! It has been a busy few months for me that I haven’t hopped on here to update! I’ve just been a super busy bee. The past month has flown by for me, in fact, this whole year! I’ve been flat out trying to keep my work/life/study/fitness/mental health/social life all in balance But it’s really hard to do it all whilst staying sane! Anyone else agree?! I’ve been so busy with all of the above that I have neglected the social media for my business Despite that being ...my business’ primary service. I’ve really been working hard on myself and I’m trying to not stray off my path of mindfulness, forgiveness, positivity and gratitude. I also recently undertook a Yin teacher training with studio owner Linda, @bikramyogaglenelgmodbury which has really opened my mind up to many things - physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually! It has reminded me of a few things: I am grateful for my health, friends & family. I am content with where I currently am in life and where the universe is leading me on my journey. I am learning to forgive and let go of things that do not serve me. I am hoping that despite everything that has happened this year, that everyone can come together and learn to be kinder, more compassionate and considerate to one another. With 2021 almost here Here’s to hoping that next year will be a better year for us all! Lalah Delia Love this quote as it reminds me to trust in the process. Things don’t always come as easy as you think! A little backstory to how I came about deciding on my business name and logo I originally liked the word ‘Copacetic’ as a name for my business. This word I’d learnt from watching The Wire meaning Very satisfactory, or in excellent order I just loved how it rolled off the tongue. However, it wasn’t available to register as a domain or business name, so I ended up using ‘Its Copacetic’. Two weeks after deliberating over my logo and name, I was ready to give up before I’d even started anything because I felt discouraged and displeased with it. I sat there staring at my desk full of random cut outs and posters, where I kept staring at this card I received from an order from my favourite cruelty free make-up brand ColourPop! I figured, I love sushi (and all things food), I liked the idea of a logo that took a bit of my personality into the business I liked the idea of ‘Roll It Out?’ That’s where it came to life! 09.01.2022 #happyhumpday everyone - Just a bit of motivational wisdom. Love this artwork from DreamyMoons - if you haven’t seen her work before, be sure to do so! Too often, we compare someone else’s journey to ours and allow it to get us down. I am guilty of this myself, and too often let it suppress my spirits. Thankfully I have my partner to constantly remind me to look back and realise how far I’ve come in the past few years; all the physical and mental struggles I have encount...ered. It is a great reminder that your life is your journey and nobody else’s, and that every obstacle that you encounter is a lesson that you will be grateful for later down the track. 06.01.2022 Some of you might recognise these graphics or seen the account floating around on Instagram.... If you don’t know already, I run a food blog Hangry Hungry Hippos with my cousin Laura Lo! We’ve both always had a passion for all things food; it all started when we bumped into each other at a family wedding after not seeing each other for a few years. We got talking and realised it was something we always wanted to do but didn’t feel like we could commit to. Fast forward 4... years now and we are still keeping it going! Fun fact, I actually hand drew these graphics and then coloured them in on MS Paint on a Microsoft Surface Pro!
