25.01.2022 Heres The Facts Folks (Straight from Brett & Tania ) We are moving premises this SEPTEMBER 2020... Our Lease is up in our old shop Oct 7th 2020 and we couldnt come to an agreement with the landlords for our lease agreement moving forward () We are taking ALL our staff The new shop is slightly Bigger We dont want to lease under corporate landlords anymore... We want a premises that is suitable for our small family run business (A shopping centre location isnt) We are tired of not knowing who our go to person is when we have an issue we need sorted at our current premises We want to have access to our shop, When we want access , Not when someone tells us we can. Plus , The way we see it (Our opinion only ) Soon in Shopping centres a "A Shopping Centre Apocalypse" Will soon approach us, We saw this 2 years before COVID !! (So , Why would we sign a lease for 5 + years in this uncertain time within a Shopping Centre location ??...) Our list is long as hell... But we are making this move after 19 years for the best interest of our Business , Clients , Staff and Family We sooo appreciate the support we have had over the past 19 years and we hope to have that support for the next 33 years. 15.01.2022 On Friday We lost a true legend of our Barber Industry - NORM WRIGHTSON - ... 1924 - 2020 Iconic Perth Barbershop Norm Wrightson Hairway ( 1933 - 2020 ) Was in its current location for 87 years..... If you dont know of this Barber Legend !!! (G.O.A.T ) Do your self a favour and keep on reading.... Norm Wrightson was born in 1924 , He was a 3rd generation barber. In 1933 the family opened a barbershop opposite town hall in Fremantle , Perth WA and all the family lived upstairs from the barbershop. After serving his apprenticeship with his father and completing 4 years of army service during World War 2 , Norm worked in the shop along side his wife Bernice until his retirement in 1999. Norm Wrightson was one of the first barbershops in WA to put on a lady apprentice and a lady hairdresser. Since Norms retirement there has only been 3 other owners of Norm Wrightsons Hairway Barbershop in Fremantle Perth WA. And we are hugely privileged to say that we were one of those owners. During our time of owning Norm Wrightson Hairway or as many might know " 6 Chairs " We enjoyed our regular visits from Norm and as did all of our / his clients and staff. When Norm would come in for a haircut not only would he insist on paying he rung it up through the till himself and tipped the barber who ever was fortunate enough to cut his hair on that day Although each and every owner put their own touches on that store , There was certain elements of that shop that were demended untouchable - Ie: The Footy Posters (That went back as far as the 60s ) The fake plastic marijuana plant that was name "Fideles" Retirement Fund" Any anybody who ever got a shave had to remember the Red , White & Blue ceiling Sooo pritty much , We left it as it was , Because we too fell in love with it. To say we were nervous was an understatement, BUT it looks friggen amazing !!
