06.01.2022 Determined and self-motivated are two words to describe Lawson Dingle, who is a Storeperson at SQSs Toowoomba branch. At just 22 years, Lawson, who is original...ly from Roma, already has some pretty big achievements under his belt. He is a Weightlifter, with dreams of making the Australian Olympic team, in coming years. At his first National event in Hobart, Lawson, who is also a qualified builder, trained in his parents back shed, won gold in the 105kg junior mens category at the Australian Weightlifting Championships. Lawson was then named as a member of the Australian Weightlifting Federation team to compete in the 2017 Commonwealth Junior Championships at the Gold Coast to try out for the Commonwealth Games. He has since moved up to the highly contested Open category and has competed as several competitions across Australia. Lawson is a member of the Toowoomba Weightlifting Association and trains under well- known coach, Greg Hobl. Toowoomba Manager Elisha Elisaia said Lawson is a very humble young man, determined & focused to do his best with his sport, you can see that in the way he approaches his work duties. Although weightlifting is an individual sport Lawson is a team player at work." See more
