25.01.2022 While Romani Galloways has returned to better year following 4 years of drought we still hold the pain of last years events including fires on our back door and... heavy herd reductions. I remember a phone call in early December last year from Darren and Rebecca Hard in Victoria wanting to acquire some Galloways. They were what I call dream clients sympathetic to our then situation but also very aware of our breeding and reputation that we have successfully built over the years. Managing the sale with Darren with fires everywhere and summer heat, we successfully transported 15 cattle on the 18/12/19 using Dick Smith transport Dubbo NSW from Millfield NSW to Woodend VIC, outside the heat of in the day in a beautiful truck with a covered roof and rubber matting with several pens. 2 bulls were part of the group that headed down Irrabina CD Soldier WCDH3 and his son Romani Norman ROMN17 which are the 2 bulls in pictures below which Rebecca sent to me last night. The style and temperament of these bulls are very much what we look for in future sires to promote the Galloway Family. Darren and Rebecca have been hugely successful with their Alpaca stud and I am sure they will continue this on with Ashbourne Galloways. Well done Darren the Rebecca the bulls look very much at home at you stud in Victoria, Romani looks forwards to seeing what you achieve in the future with the bulls and females. 07.01.2022 UPDATE! ROMANI FARM OPEN WEEKEND 3RD 4TH OCTOBER 2020 Due to the ongoing Covid-19 we will have to make a couple of changes to our open farm weekend. The weekend visit is now by appointment only, so we can manage the amount of people we have here at Romani at any 1 time to protect yourself, us and other people attending. We ask when the weekend comes around if you have said yes to attend but not feeling well over that time Please respect others and not attend. A small charge o...f $10.00 on arrival at Romani Farm will apply with all proceeds going to the Millfield Rural Fire Brigade which did an amazing job protecting us all from the Crumps Complex fire is 19/20 With the above said, I need you all as you plan accommodation over that weekend that you please send me a email again confirming your attendance and which day, so we can coordinate groups of people to smaller groups. 06.01.2022 A chilly foggy start for Romani Galloways maintenance day. Some of the girls are holding big secrets due next March bringing some brand new genetics to the Romani herd and other breeders. Exciting times again to be able to rebuild the herd. :)

06.01.2022 A frosty start at Romani Farm this morning with Kermond Park Nina giving birth to AI Twins! Sire Budawang Xavier BWX06 I checked on Nina at 7am where she presen...ted me her bundles of joys closed together tucked up and both cleaned up. I left her for a hour to bond with her calves and went back to deliver some hay so she had feed with her, and the little bull calf was dead. Was it the frost that took him or there was something else wrong! I left the calf with her all day to assess and have just removed it tonight. The remaining heifer calf she has removed from the area and it has had a good feed and a belly full of warm colostrum milk. Kermond Park Nina RKB N1 for those who don’t know her, was the overall Supreme Champion of the mini Galloways as a junior heifer at Canberra Royal 2018 Feature Breed. 04.01.2022 After Romani had the hard decision last August to sell a lot of our mature mini Galloway females, force to sell because of the on going drought, 1 female in par...ticular that went was power house Romani Kinky Boots ROM K2, I was lucky enough to retain 2 of her heifers and was rewarded on the 2/07/19 with her first born Romani Non Stop Diva ROM N3 having her 1st calf a beautiful little white black pointed heifer which we have called Romani Qantas ROM Q3 Look out at up and coming show season to see Diva and Qantas out and about ! :) See more
