09.01.2022 Roma Court House was first opened in 1873 for the trial of Henry ‘Harry’ Readford A.K.A Captain Starlight. However The heritage listed courthouse that is still viable today was established in 1901. . Readford pulled off an elaborate cattle heist by stealing 1,000 head of cattle from Bowen Downs Station blazing a trail down the South Australia. Through the inhospitable Strzelecki Desert, which was considered a remarkable achievement, making Readford become legend. .
