09.01.2022 STOP PLEASE STOP When you get in a car Before you start your engine STOP and think about the lives involved in accidents, communities and families. La...st month our community was rocked by a terrible bus & car accident involving our local families This morning at 7.50am my bus was in a near miss situation whilst about to pick up at a scheduled stop for 7 kids. Big Flash cars with Big Flash caravans STOP AND SLOW DOWN you may be in a hurry to die but don’t involve others with your stupidity, ignorance and self importance. Not only did you cross over double marked lines on a blind bend to pass me whilst speeding through an unpainted roadworks prior you pushed me off the road then cut in way too short in front of me to cause breaking then you and your travelling companion sped to take over 3 road trains crossing double white lines on a blind bend entering into unfinished roadworks 80klm where yup you guessed it - Ran out of room and clipped the front of the first truck with 2 others following closely. If anyone ever says Truck drivers or large transport operators are unprofessional get off our roads. I am a professional bus driver of many years and have my driver Julie Klein in my spare bus covering for Col until his bus is replaced from the terriable accident only 3 weeks ago today and have my husband whom owns and has operated trucks for many years after seeing how this unfolded knowing there was nothing any of us could do except control our vehicles and pray. Hearing that radio call ‘His clipped the front of my truck’ and seeing debris flying the only thing I could do was positively answer the voice on the 2 way with ‘you got this hold her straight and keep her up right mate’ which thankfully the truck and 2 following trucks did very professionally. Seeing the two vehicles headed for the Finke Race speed off oblivious of what had happened I watched on dumbfounded. I safely loaded my kids and parked whilst placing an urgent call to the Roma police after my near miss but whilst on my phone watched as the truck was clipped. Sergeant Noel Jones from Roma Police station - thank you for responding very quickly the two parties involved were pulled up and after seeing the damage and taking statements charged them . I checked on 2 out of the 3 trucks involved and although shaken we all went on our way to continue our daily jobs lives. This could have been soo different soo quickly. Please SLOW DOWN life is precious and can be over at the blink of an eye. Could you live your life knowing your stupid actions caused death ??? Not Me. PLEASE SLOW DOWN ON OUR ROADS See more

08.01.2022 From the American Civil War to more recent conflicts, PTSD has plagued service people for centuries. Despite its widespread impact in the veteran community and ...beyond, PTSD wasn’t even recognised as an official diagnosis until the 1980s. To help raise awareness, we have created a timeline charting the history of PTSD, its effect on military personnel, and how our understanding of the condition has evolved. If you or a loved one are experiencing PTSD or another mental health issue, help is available. Learn more at https://www.rslqld.org/find-help/psychology-services.
