15.01.2022 This week we look to place the spotlight on National Child Protection Week, with the theme. "Putting children first". NAPCAN - Play Your Part invite all Australians to look at how they can prioritise children in their lives and communities and to engage in National Child Protection Week as individuals, and as part of families, organisations, communities and society. Putting children first means prioritising the safety and wellbeing of children. To grow up well children need to feel safe and loved, have a chance to play and explore, have a say in decisions that affect them, and access to essential things like food, shelter and healthcare. #childrights #childprotection

12.01.2022 Here at Story House Early Learning Roma Street we value the importance of play for your child!! Many opportunities throughout the day (intentional and spontaneous) are provided for children to play. Children can develop many skills, they may develop their language skills, emotions, creativity and social skills. Play helps to nurture imagination and give a child a sense of adventure. ... In turn, this helps them develop the ability to concentrate. Come join us at Roma Street where we can support your child in their growth and development.

12.01.2022 Children who make art can learn critical thinking skills in the process, in many ways such as observing art made by others and gaining information through observation; by interpreting and coming to conclusions on observation. Miss Rowenas intentional teaching focus on the artist Piet Mondrian did just that.

05.01.2022 Here at Roma Street we support our little people to develop self help skills necessary for life. Age is no barrier when you have teachers supporting you along the way. 02.01.2022 Happy snap from our last Roma Parklands excursion!! For most children, visiting gardens which are set out on a large scale, such as the Roma St Parklands, can b...e an enthralling experience. The scents, the tactile nature of the plants around them and the amazing feeling of open green spaces is tremendously exciting for small children. Visually noting seasonal changes within a garden environment is also an excellent way to consolidate learning programs within the centre. These sights and scents will often stay with a child long into adulthood becoming some of their earliest and best loved memories. Who knows whether a garden visit as a four-year-old propelled Charlie Albone, award winning landscaper and gardener, towards his chosen career in later life!
