07.01.2022 Today we celebrate ES staff day. Our ES staff are an extremely important and valuable part of the RPS community. We couldn’t do anything without every single of them helping and supporting us. We are lucky enough to have ES working closely with our students in classes, running extra learning sessions, life skills sessions, lunch time activities, first aid duties, helping out in the office and of course being always there for a chat when students or teachers need an ear. Thank... you Bec Cudmore, Carolyn Tuite, Denise Polidoro, Kimberley Anderson, Nerrida Ellard and Sam Aitken. Another member of our ES team is Trish Castle who does an amazing job with our canteen keeping us all well fed and hydrated and who could forget Leo! Leo our maintenance man, ensuring that RPS stays in tip top condition. Our ES staff also extends to our office ladies who ensure the smooth everyday running of the school, answering any queries, completing first aid and being a point of contact. Our sensational library and AUSLAN programs are also overseen by ES, Robyn Moore & Jess Gidman respectfully and finally our school finances, all kept in order by our amazing Business Manager, Nicole Alexander. Together our ES staff form a major part into what makes RPS the school that it is and today is just one opportunity to stop and thank them all. Throughout the week the school will be celebrating our wonderful ES staff and we would welcome you to join us in saying thanks if you see an ES member in the school grounds. So to all of our ES I hope you have a great day and we all look forward to seeing you during the week! Thank you from the RPS staff and students See more

07.01.2022 Today we celebrated Book Week with a dress up day. What a fun day!

04.01.2022 Last Friday our Prep students went on their very first excursion to DreamCity. DreamCity is Melbourne’s newest edutainment destination for kids aged 5 to 13. It is an amazing world where science, technology, engineering, the arts and maths collide in an explosion of fun. A place where kids take on the careers of the future and explore the power of science in everyday lives. Our Preps were so excited to catch the bus and visit Melbourne city. They all had a great time and learnt about some possible jobs that some of them could do when they grow up. There were some very tired little legs when they arrived back at school in the afternoon, which is always a good sign of a great excursion! Well done Prep team, Mrs Coffey, Mrs Stewart, Bec, Kimberley & Carolyn!

03.01.2022 It can be challenging to process and manage changes to routines and the uncertainty that comes with COVID-19 and related restrictions including moving to remote learning. To support our school community during this time, resources and support are available for parents, carers and families. These resources will help to support the mental health and wellbeing of our students and the young people in our care during this time. We encourage everyone in our community to access ...these resources and take care of themselves during this time. Supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our students remains our priority this year, especially during the continued COVID-19 pandemic and while students are learning from home during the current circuit breaker restrictions. https://www.education.vic.gov.au//quick-guide-to-student-m For students, the guide includes resources to support their own mental health and wellbeing. Advice and resources for students about ways to adapt their learning during coronavirus, to look after themselves and where to get help. Wellbeing activities fearing AFL and AFLW players with tips on managing stress, staying active and gratitude. Kick it with Victory physical activities with Melbourne Victory Football Club. Smiling Mind mindfulness activities for senior secondary school students, including short videos, online tip sheets and meditations The guide also includes resources and supports for parents and carers to help them build their child’s physical and mental health and wellbeing. This includes: resources to support children’s physical, mental health and wellbeing wellbeing activities and conversation starters Raising Learners podcast series how to talk to your child about coronavirus (COVID-19). Wellbeing guidance for parents and carers is also available on the Department’s website, or through the confidential parent support hotline, Parentline, available 8am to midnight, seven days a week.
