25.01.2022 Positive feedback and job satisfaction is only one of the many reasons I love and adore my career choice. Saturday night while celebrating my grandsons first bi...rthday I received a text from last months painting client’s waxing lyrical how happy they were with the restoration of their prized Indian Religious Icon they had bought years ago while living overseas. Ron I quote your suggestion to restore our rusting icon with first a coat of Penetrol followed by two cotes of semi gloss rustproof enamel was inspired, the icing on the cake was your idea of replacing traditional candles with hard wired LED’s has given Liz and I so much pleasure and joy!! #lovemyjob #luckytohavajob

23.01.2022 Another week, another sad original Californian Bungalow transformation from sows ear to silk purse by my extraordinarily talented team. This $1.1 million doll...ar homeyes you read correct, was one of the roughest cottages we have ever restored and repainted. Colours ( Dulux Antique White USA walls. 22.01.2022 This is the first time I’ve had all three of my primary work trailers together since expanding my business at the turn of the decade. The middle trailer is the ...ring in with the subtitle different question ( NEED YOUR HOUSE PAINTED?). Ten years ago when my painting colleague asked if he could copy my trailer build specs and use my signage he didn’t copy exactly but changed it up slightly. I’m interested in your opinions on what works best??? Happy Thursday Face Friends See more

19.01.2022 Auntie Rondas essential oil vacuum bag infusion tip. I keep a bottle of Lemon grass oil in the housing of my Miele work vacuum to add a couple of drops to th...e bag every time I use it to avoid that skanky smell all vacuum’s exhaust. This infuses my clients house with a delightful scent as the unit heats and exhaust’s as we perform our final job site clean. 19.01.2022 It’s Silly Sunday and back in the 1990’s before SUV’s were the thing Robin had a bubby Suzuki Vitara and I had a colour matched massive Ford Bronco. Of the 64 cars I have owned the Bronco was the all time favourite I must admit. Happy Sundee face friends

18.01.2022 FYI FACEYS. 2 short videos. Seal n Peel is a liquid masking film applied by brush, roller or spray to protect glass surfaces typically inside or out for effi...cient airless paint industry spraying situations. It is also useful if your cutting in and wish to overlap the glass for whatever reason. Preemptive typical questions are, how much? $20 a litre. Can you paint it over substrates? Yes it’s designed to stick to frames etc but will not adhere to flat glass. Availability? Australia wide in most paint stores ( ring ahead) and is time and cost effective! In my humble opinion a game changer for quick clean professional application to most paint projects eliminates any possible glass overspray leaving edges razor sharp with no brush flaring lines and a side benefit is once peeled it removes all surface dust or grime reinstating dirty glass to sparkling as new condition. My clients are often so impressed with their sparkling clean glass they almost overlook my excellent painted surfaces!!Typically two full coats are recommended but we only ever apply one quick coat as demonstrated, we overspray the glass with our undercoats and our finish coats a semi gloss acrylic or water based semigloss enamel 2 full coats which builds film thickness making the product peel off easily preferably on a cool morning ( it adheres to glass tenaciously on sunny hot days so hose it down to cool the glass if this is an issue.) Disclaimer, I have no commercial interest in this product and for audio purposes don’t wear a spray mask in my videos, this is just my system and I don’t claim this is the correct or only way of painting This post is is just to demonstrate to anyone interested how we use this system for what it’s worth. Two short videos FYI. Have an excellent spring week face friends.

17.01.2022 This is the very first property I ever painted aged 18 in 1969 seven years before I became a professional painter.

15.01.2022 I’m so proud of this CAREER HIGHLIGHT on the second anniversary

10.01.2022 With over 15,000 views and numerous participants giving positive feedback I recycle this video in the interest of positive influence in my industry that I love passionately

07.01.2022 FYI potential clients.

06.01.2022 Priding ourselves as green painters we protect our clients polished floors with recycled cardboard from paint pallet bases normally disposed of after single use. This has multiple benefits. Being 3 layer core flute cardboard it protects our clients floors from anything dropped accidentally. It also completely seals the floors from any dust or paint ever reaching the protected surfaces. And from a safety perspective when we are on ladders on normally highly slippery polished floors the cardboard can’t move at all as it’s taped together and creates a rigid surface over tiles or wood. Finally we load the recycled used cardboard straight into my van upon completion then it is shredded for reuse at my local council recycling depot.

06.01.2022 FYI facey’s a short demonstration video of our exterior repaint systems for those interested now we are out of lockdown and back on the tools. After masking wi...ndows and laying dropsheets we thoroughly sand the weatherboard’s with our Festool dust extraction system using 80 grit paper. After gapping and filling all cracks and holes we spray a full coat of a premium acrylic undercoat to all surfaces. Once the undercoat is dry and hardened its time for the second coat which in this instance was Colourbond Dune Dulux Weathershield gloss also sprayed. The third and final coat is applied by brush. See video no two for more tips.

06.01.2022 There is one in every team!! As we restart my business again after a 14 day compulsory Cona scare I’m setting up cones and social distancing signs ( thank you Peter and team Clifton Hill paint store). Have the most excellent day face friends and children please don’t copy uncle Ron

05.01.2022 FYI this 60 second video demonstrates our recycled cardboard floor protection system that not only fully protects our clients polished boards but is safer in... my experience to work on than slippery dropsheets that not only tend to slide on slippery floors but due to our all spray painting systems let spray dust penetrate into the clients floor board cracks. FYI we use 48mm 3M low tack blue tape on the skirting perimeters to avoid damaging polyurethane when removing and cheaper 48mm standard brown 3M tape to seal cardboard. Happy painting colleagues. Recycled cardboard available free Australia wide at all paint outlets See more

03.01.2022 Good morning facey’s as Melbourne’s run of sun drenched windless Autumnal days comes to an end. Pictured a year ago my bestie Robert perched on a fence in Sout...h Australia’s mid north in front of a gorgeous church painted in the iconic and unusual colour known as Eau de Nil meaning colour of the Nile as named by a famous French explorer Gustave Flaubert in 1849 after his well documented visit to Egypt. As a professional painter and history buff I love useless facts like this and always marvel when I stumble onto examples. This colour was commonly used under iron and eaves soffits in the late 1800’s and onwards. Ron fun fact, Australia’s first public housing Paxton Square Burra Burra in SA’s copper town mid north was where our first documented heritage paint colours originated circa 1848. It’s my understanding that the small South Australian boutique paint company WP Crowhurst brand name Solver now owned by the multinational Sherwin Williams conducted scrapings in Burra in the 1960’s and produced Australia’s first unique heritage paint colour chart which I have used extensively in my period house repaint business. Hava sensational Tuesday facey’s

02.01.2022 Built in 1942 this magnificent architecturally noteworthy home in the modernist style of architecture nestled in Sir Walter Burley Griffin’s Melbourne-suburb of Eaglemont has stood the test of time and in my personal opinion was decades ahead of its time with open planned living and airy glass filled rooms everywhere. Last year we had the privilege of repainting this gorgeous house and is part of the reason I so love and enjoy my job.
