25.01.2022 - From tomorrow: Masks will only be mandatory on public transport 1 person per 2 square metres will apply at all venues, except for gyms. Weddings and funerals will still be subject to a 300 person cap.... Although masks are no longer mandatory it is very strongly encouraged in indoor venues where social distancing is not possible that you wear a mask. The government is trying to strike the balance between keeping the economy going and boosting jobs whilst ensuring COVID-19 is kept under control but warned how important it is not to let our guard down we need to continue to keep good hand hygiene, social distance and come forward for testing with even the mildest of symptoms. Complacency is really our enemy. It is easy to forget the continuing death rate in Europe, the USA and other parts of the world. Those countries failed because their population had not been as responsive as Australians in complying with government requests. So continue to maintain social distancing, wear a mask when you can't and come forward for testing and don’t go to work if you're unwell. Stay safe, everyone.

And may Christmas bring peace to this troubled world. May this joyous occasion provide us all with the strength to build trust and understanding between all people. Merry Christmas. . 25.01.2022 3 MILLION COVID TESTS IN NSW Huge milestone. 3 million tests since 20 January. These are latest updated COVID-19 figures of suburbs in my electorate by postcode and local government areas as reported by NSW Health. NSW Health have reported 2 locally acquired cases linked to Oran Park cluster. COVID-19 has been detected in sewage in Bathurst. Anyone who attended Bathurst 1000 last week should monitor for symptoms and get tested if symptoms appear.... Remember to wear a mask when using public transport, rideshares and taxis, and in shops, places of worship and other places where you can’t physically distance. When taking taxis or rideshares, commuters should also sit in the back. There are more than 300 COVID-19 testing locations across NSW. To find your nearest clinic visit https://www.nsw.gov.au/.../how-to-protect.../clinics Locations linked to known cases, advice on testing and isolation, and areas identified for increased testing can be found here: https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates.

25.01.2022 ZETLAND MOTORCYCLE CRASH REINFORCES IMPORTANCE OF MOTORCYCLE AWARENESS MONTH A 43-year-old motorcyclist has tragically died after a collision with a bus at the corner of Defries and Gadigal Avenue, Zetland, about 5:30pm Tuesday. I send my condolences to his family and friends. I understand the bus driver has been charged with a number of very serious offences. NSW Police Force are investigating and anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Sto...ppers: 1800 333 000 or www.nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. This sad accident happened just days before the start of Motorcycle Awareness Month, which is every October in NSW. Motorcyclists are grossly over-represented in crash, injury, and fatality statistics in NSW. On average, 44 motorcyclists are killed every year on NSW roads. Here are six simple tips from roads authorities to keep motorcyclists safe; Scan the road - especially when approaching intersections Check your blind spots - especially when changing lanes Check your mirrors - often, and before changing lanes Check when opening doors - before you get out of a parked car Check when pulling out into traffic - motorcycles can be hard to spot! Give them space - they have to avoid obstacles which you don't

23.01.2022 An honour to cut the ribbon on Betty Spears Child Care Centre's "nature wildplay garden", which was one of the winners of the inaugral "My Community Project" grant competition. This special little childcare centre has completely transformed residual land off Gannon Street - clearing out the weeds and scrub which was a magnet for refuse, and transformed it into a beautiful native learning and play area for the whole community to enjoy. I got to cut the ribbon and officially open the garden. Thanks to Inner West Council for their support and Cr Victor Macri for being there. Congratulations Betty Spears and congratulations Tempe on this little gem.

22.01.2022 Bayside Council not the most popular at my Mascot Mobile Office. I wonder whether or not a massive rate increase during a health crisis is contributing? The council is looking for the views of residents. Maybe NSW Liberal Party elected councillor for Mascot Michael Nagy will hear this man’s message.... I know NSW Labor Mascot councillors Tarek Ibrahim & Dorothy Rapisardi have, as they continue to stand up for us.

22.01.2022 "I was surrounded by a community that wanted to see me do well. That belief and support motivated me even further." Congratulations to Alexandria Park Community School student Jaida Conway - a proud Kamilaroi woman and Alexandria Park Community School Captain - who placed first in the state in Aboriginal Studies in this year's HSC. Jaida attributes her success to the Alexandria Park Community and its teachers. I wouldn’t have these results if not for Alex Park."... Jaida plans on studying Arts/Law at the University of Sydney and continue pursuing a career dedicated to working with Aboriginal people and communities. Your community is so proud of you Jaida!

21.01.2022 RAW SEWAGE IN MILL POND Despite a backlash from locals, the Australian Government has renewed Sydney Water's permission to discharge raw sewage into Mill Pond when the sewer pipes reach capacity until 31 March 2021. Not only is Mill Pond right next to Botany Public School, but it ultimately ends up in Botany Bay. Even the Sydney Airport has concerns about these plans - the sewage attracts flocks of birds that could cause a risk to planes.... Sydney Water and the NSW Government need to come up with a plan right now, to fix the local sewer overflows so your toilet water doesn't end up in our precious local waterways. No further extension should be given by the Commonwealth,

20.01.2022 This is what I told the Parliament of NSW about the Qantas threat to move their headquarters away from Mascot and Sydney Airport. Of course, they want some governments to bid with concessions or "incentives" to attract them away from their current location. I call their behaviour rent-seeking of the highest order. Qantas is pretty good at it but we shouldn't entertain it. Qantas generates thousands of jobs in our community, directly and indirectly. Qantas is our oldest airl...ine and Mascot is our first airport. They are synonymous with each other. They shouldn't put an end to this very old, very successful partnership. Our community wants Qantas in Mascot and that's where they should stay.

20.01.2022 State Emergency Services like NSW Ambulance, NSW Police Force and Fire and Rescue NSW have released an updated Emergency Plus App aimed at getting help to those who need it faster. Street addresses can be inaccurate or incomplete - like if you're in a park or regional area. To help those in need, the app divides the world into 3m by 3m squares and labels every one with three easy words. Instead of telling emergency services my office is found at 117/747 Botany Road Rosebery, ...I could simply tell them to go to "Honest Sentences Aspect" and help would be on its way. Download the free emergency plus app today! Available on the App Store: https://fal.cn/3binl Android App available on the Google Play Store: https://fal.cn/3binm

19.01.2022 This week I told the Parliament of NSW that in relation to the approval process of the Eastlakes Shopping Centre development I have now concluded that I have reasonable grounds to suspect corrupt conduct and in accordance with my legal obligation, I have referred the matter to the Independent Commission Against Corruption - ICAC. This is what I told the Parliament of NSW

19.01.2022 HAPPY MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL To those in my electorate who are celebrating, may I wish you a very happy Mid-Autumn Festival. It is a very special day this year, with the Mid-Autumn Festival also falling on China's National Day. Known also as the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival, it traditionally falls on the 15th day of the 8th month in the lunar calendar. It is Celebrated in many East Asian communities.... In China, it's a reunion time for families, just like Thanksgiving, while in Vietnam, it's more like a children's day. The Mid-Autumn Festival is the second most important festival after Lunar Year. !

18.01.2022 With the President of the Rotary Club of Botany Randwick, Christine Baramilis at the Inaugural Dinner at The Randwick Club I am so pleased to support Rotary International whose members across the globe make such a significant contribution to humanity, or as Rotary says; Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.

18.01.2022 HAPPY LABOUR DAY LONG WEEKEND When enjoying this long weekend, it can be easy to forget why we celebrate Labour Day - what it means and why it exists. Labour Day celebrates the victory of the Eight Hour-Day Movement - a campaign by the Australian labour movement to to achieve 8 hours of work, 8 hours of rest, and 8 hours of leisure. ... In Melbourne in 1856, construction workers and stonemasons walked off the job and marched to Parliament House to demand more equitable work hours - and won. So many of the labour movement's victories we take for granted - weekends, sick leave, annual leave, 38 hour working weeks, penalty rates, even Medicare and superannuation. But it's the fighting spirit of the Australian trade union movement that has delivered the wages, and working and living conditions, that makes Australia the envy of the world. Enjoy your long weekend.

17.01.2022 To all those who are celebrating Lunar New Year, I would like to wish you and your family a very Happy New Year - the Year of the Ox. The Ox represents honesty, diligence, hard work, and perseverance - qualities that each of us can appreciate, particularly given the difficult year we have all been through. May the Year of the Ox bring you Good Health, Good Luck and Prosperity.

17.01.2022 - - The message today is please use the Service NSW QR Code when going into any indoor premises that have them. It is really easy to forget. Even going into take away food venues if the operators have gone to the trouble of having it please use it. 14.01.2022 TIPS FOR A COVID-SAFE HALLOWEEN While older residents can probably remember a time when Halloween wasn't recognised in Australia, it is increasingly popular! NSW Health has given the all-clear for Halloween festivities to occur - within limits. They have provided some guidelines to make sure Halloween can be as safe and fun as possible. ... Make sure to follow these guidelines and enjoy goblin up all your Halloween candy just don't let it go to waist!

14.01.2022 ? The answer I think is given by Vikki Campion in todays Daily Telegraph (see below). During March to November last year, during the peak of the pandemic, when only essential travel was permitted, when the road toll had fallen to 1930’s level the NSW Government raked in $53 million from phone detection cameras. In 2019 during the entire year, prior to the pandemic and prior to in the introduction of these spy cameras th...e NSW Government received $10 million, Addressing offending driver behaviour that causes the risk to human life is important and is the job of our NSW Police Force. There has to be a balance struck. Even with speed cameras there are warning signs. The government refused to use warning signs. Why? The warning sign might be a deterrence. Would that impact on government revenue? Vikki Campion writes; People make mistakes most often remedied on reflection of what they did but we are now living in a world where any indiscretion will be monitored, photographed and fined. Cameras bring surveillance, and it comes down to the government having a higher reason to watch you than you do to be free. If cameras equal freedom than China must be the freest place on earth they have cameras everywhere. What do you think? https://meltwaternews.com/ext/mediac/304499325.pdf

13.01.2022 After four long punishing months, Victoria is leaving lockdown. I congratulate Premier Dan Andrews and every Victorian who sacrificed so much to make sure their streets were safe. Among all of the media chatter, it's important to remember that for the grace of God, we in Sydney could have had the same fate. All around the world, cities like New York, London, and Paris are shutting down under increasing infection numbers. I'm extremely grateful to everyone who has done the right thing, followed the COVID restrictions, and has done their best to stay safe during this difficult time.

13.01.2022 The demands I made in the Parliament of NSW yesterday, and the demands by Lord Mayor Clover Moore for the NSW government to reverse its decision to scrap a planned underground Metro station in Zetland must be heeded, or there will be catastrophic consequences. It was always planned as part of the $27 billion Metro West rail line for the Metro to terminate in Zetland. ... The Sydney Morning Herald obtained government documents marked "sensitive" that showed that the included Zetland station was suddenly and secretively dropped from the Metro plans. This Metro station is critical to servicing the state’s most dense and fastest growing area at Green Square. Metro rail is the only solution for Green Square but my community will now miss out because of a hopeless NSW Liberal Party cost blowouts. Eventually, the pandemic will pass and the roads will be full, the buses will be full, the trains and stations will be full and my community will have to pay for this stupidity.

13.01.2022 SYDNEY RESIDENTS NOT WELCOME IN A.C.T. The ACT government has advised all non-ACT residents travelling from COVID-19 affected areas of NSW ie means that anyone who has been in the Northern Beaches, Greater Sydney, Central Coast and Wollongong Local Government Areas (LGAs) of NSW, and is not an ACT resident, is legally not permitted to be in the ACT without a valid exemption. If people from these areas need to travel to the ACT for extraordinary circumstances, they will ne...ed to apply for an exemption at least three days prior to their travel. Applications for exemption must be submitted at least three days prior to travel but no more than 14 days prior to the proposed travel date. For further information on requirements for travel to the ACT from NSW, including this updated direction, visit: https://www.covid19.act.gov.au/community/travel/nsw ACT Police will be enforcing this public health direction and will t are presence at Federal Highway.

13.01.2022 Constituents have contacted me lately saying they've been exorbitantly overcharged by electricians and plumbers - sometimes more per minute than a medical professional. 12.01.2022 What an honour it was for me to be received by the congregation of St George Coptic Orthodox Church Kensington to recognise the service of the Very Reverend Fr Marcos Tawfik OAM. Fr Marcos has devoted 40 years of his life to the priesthood, the community and the Church. It was only fitting that I was able to recognise that sacrifice on behalf of the Parliament of NSW at their Sunday mass.

12.01.2022 Rain, hail or shine, I enjoy going out and meeting with residents. I look forward to holding another Mobile Office soon.

10.01.2022 #FLASHBACKFRIDAY It’s moments like these - the Minties slogan. Everybody knows that. It is the longest running slogan in Australian advertising. These are adds from the 1920’s. But did you know Minties were manufactures right here in Rothschild Avenue, Rosebery by its inventor James Noble Steadmen in 1922. He began the manufacturing the iconic sweet by his company James Steadmen-Henderson Sweets Ltd. The factory premises were known as Sweetacres, part of that site was rec...ently commemorated by the City of Sydney naming a park after the famous factory Sweetacres Park James Stedman-Henderson’s Sweets Ltd changed hands several times from the late 1960s onwards. Taken over by Hoadleys in 1968, then Rowntree in 1971, they eventually became a part of the international company, Nestle when Nestle took over Rowntree in 1981. Minties are now sold under the Allens brand which was also bought by Nestle in 1985. The location that employed thousands has long closed. It’s land sold off and now houses high rise apartments, like so much of our employment generating land in this area. I have added a Building Surveyors Report courtesy of the Sydney City Council archives of a building approval from 1950. #FBF

10.01.2022 - NSW Health has recorded 4 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19. There was 1 case in a returned traveller, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases in NSW since the beginning of the pandemic to 4,789. There were 32,667 tests reported to 8pm last night, compared with the previous day’s total of 26,391. High testing numbers are vital to finding undetected cases and helping to contain the spread of COVID-19.... Of the 4 newly locally acquired cases to 8pm last night: 1 is linked to the Berala cluster and is the young man from western Sydney reported yesterday who travelled to western NSW. There are now 16 cases in the Berala cluster. 1, a man in his 20s, is a household contact of a case linked to the Avalon cluster. This brings the total number of cases for the Avalon cluster to 149. 1, from western Sydney, is a household contact of a previously reported case whose source remains under investigation but is likely to be linked to the Berala cluster. 1, a man in his 30s from western Sydney, is under investigation. In addition, 1 case was acquired overseas. Testing has taken place for the travelling companions of the case first announced yesterday who visited towns in western NSW. All of them have tested negative for COVID-19. They will remain in isolation for 14 days and will be tested again if they get any symptoms. They will also be required to return a negative result prior to the end of their isolation period. Spectators at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) test will now be required to wear a mask at all times, unless eating or drinking. Fines will apply. Residents and workers from Wentworthville and Belmore have been added to the list of suburbs that are unable to attend the test match. These also include Auburn, Berala, Lidcombe North, Regents Park and Rookwood. There are more than 350 COVID-19 testing locations across NSW, many of which are open seven days a week. To find your nearest clinic visit https://www.nsw.gov.au/.../how-to-protect.../clinics

09.01.2022 #FlashbackFriday Alexandria 1959. A tram at Botany Road and Henderson Road on route to Elizabeth Street and Circular Quay. 09.01.2022 #FLASHBACKFRIDAY Waterloo in 1886 was a swampy, underpopulated expanse criss-crossed by sewerage lines, brick pits and water dams. Now, tens of thousands of people live in the area, with "Big Waterloo Dam" lying just underneath where Green Square is being built today. #FBF

09.01.2022 Spectators at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) for the 3rd Test against India commencing tomorrow will now be required to wear a mask at all times unless eating or drinking. The Health Minister announced today that masks are to be worn from the time a spectator begins transport to the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). He said anyone defying these health orders will be fined.... The Government has added two more suburbs to those people that are banned from attending the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) and it includes people living or working in the following suburbs; Auburn, Berala, Lidcombe North, Potts Hill, Regents Park, Rookwood, Wentworthville and Belmore. The Health Minister has threatened $1000 fines for breaching this ban. As I said yesterday the government appears to be worried about the risks of people attending the 3rd test. The Deputy Premier has advised people from the bush not to attend. NSW Labor opposition has called on the Test to be played without spectators, not because it is being political, its is because NSW Labor is concerned about the risk. Stay safe, everyone! C'mon Aussie C'mon!

09.01.2022 A pleasure to attend the 2020 Annual General Meeting for The Deli Women & Childrens Centre with Danny Said Mayor of Randwick. Our community is so well served by the Deli because of its phenomenal staff, not least their Manager Vicki Johnston, who is one of Australia's foremost experts in her field. The Deli has had an enormous year, with Covid-19 leading to a doubling in demand for their services.... They face enormous challenges in finding the funding they need to support their services - something that I am often raising with Government Ministers Gareth Ward and Mark Speakman.

09.01.2022 Legendary Australian music artist and feminist icon Helen Reddy passed away today aged 78. Helen had lived with the complications of dementia for the past five years. Helen Reddy had her first hit with 'I Don't Know How To Love Him' in 1971, making her the first Australian to top the US charts. It was one of three number-one chart-toppers she released. But it was the release of her signature song 'I Am Woman' in 1972 in particular that propelled her to international fame. She... co-wrote the song with Ray Burton and it became the anthem of the women's movement. In 1973, she became the first Australian to win a Grammy Award. 08.01.2022 Some very proud Australians at Randwick City Council citizenship ceremony with Danny Said Mayor of Randwick, and my colleagues Marjorie O’Neill - Member for Coogee and Matt Thistlethwaite MP. This is the best part of my job - welcoming new Aussies to our national family. There is no more beautiful place in Australia to receive your citizenship than Council's Prince Henry Centre at Little Bay - and didn't the weather turn it on for our new citizens!

08.01.2022 GOOD NEWS FOR ROSEBERY Residents of Rosebery will be pleased to know that the NSW Government is finally considering excluding Rosebery from the "Low Rise Medium Density Housing Code". I've been campaigning to have an exclusion for the "Rosebery residential precinct" for the past 5 years. ... The Rosebery Covenant has protected beautiful Federation homes in this area since 1912. The "Restrictive Covenant" on the title of these properties restricts buildings whose character dilute the heritage charm of that suburb. This exclusion from the Low Rise Medium Density Housing Code, which I've been fighting for with Councillor Linda Scott and local activists, if approved, means that any proposal would need to be submitted to Council for approval. Fewer loopholes for developers to jump through means a better shot at protecting the valuable heritage of this area.

Of the locally acquired cases: is linked to the Avalon cluster, and is a close contact of a previously reported case. There are now 150 cases associated with the Avalon cluster. are linked to the Berala cluster, and are close contacts of a previously reported case. There are now 23 cases associated with the Berala cluster. There are several new venues in Sydney’s south-west and north-east that are associated with today’s new locally acquired cases. An extensive list of bus and train routes used by confirmed cases in Sydney’s south-west and Inner West, were also announced. Please check the NSW Government website: https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates and follow the health advice if you were at any of these locations at the times listed. Stay-at-home restrictions on residents of the northern zone of the Northern Beaches have now ended. Thos residents are continue to observe the restrictions in place for Greater Sydney. NSW Health reminds everyone that the virus is still circulating and they wish to mop up the remaining community transmission. So please limit high risk activities like household gatherings, or large gatherings. To be successful in ridding ourselves of this community transmission please remember to social distance, keep good hand hygiene and I urge everyone to come forward for testing if even the mildest of symptoms that could signal COVID-19 develop. There are more than 350 COVID-19 testing locations across NSW, many of which are open seven days a week. To find your nearest clinic visit https://www.nsw.gov.au/.../how-to-protect.../clinics or contact your GP. NSW Health is treating 109 COVID-19 cases, none of whom are in intensive care. Most cases (99 per cent) are being treated in non-acute, out-of-hospital care, including returned travellers in the Special Health Accommodation.

05.01.2022 REMINDER FOR ANYONE WHO HAS TRAVELLED TO QUEENSLAND SINCE 2 JANUARY The NSW Government has put in place a new Public Health Order to ensure anyone who visits NSW from the Greater Brisbane area, or who has arrived in NSW from this area in recent days, must follow similar ‘stay at home’ rules as those being put in place by the Queensland Government. Under the Order, anyone entering NSW by any mode of transport from ... City of Brisbane, City of Ipswich, Lockyer Valley Region, Logan City, Moreton Bay Region, Redland City, Scenic Rim Region, Somerset Region must go directly to their home or place of accommodation in NSW, and remain there until 6pm on Monday 11 January 2021. The Order applies to anyone who has arrived in NSW from those areas since 12.01am on 2 January 2021. People who have arrived in NSW after transiting through Brisbane Airport will not be subject to the requirements of the Order, provided they have not been in the listed areas. Once at their home or place of accommodation, Queensland arrivals are allowed to leave only for the purposes of obtaining food or essential shopping, taking exercise, work duties if they cannot be done from home, caring duties or medical care, until 6pm on Monday. People coming to Greater Sydney (including Wollongong, the Central Coast and the Blue Mountains) from Queensland or elsewhere are also reminded of the need to wear face masks in certain situations, including while shopping, under a separate Public Health Order signed earlier this week. In addition, from 6pm today all people arriving in NSW from Queensland by air must also complete a self-declaration form stating their name, address and where they stayed in Queensland, and dates of arrival and departure. Enforcement officers will have the power to require information and identification documentation to assist in checking compliance. Anyone who is travelling to NSW from Queensland, or has recently done so, is asked to monitor for even the mildest of symptoms and immediately get tested and isolate if any symptoms develop. Once tested, you must remain in isolation until a negative result is received, in line with the normal advice for all people in NSW. Anyone who has been in the Greater Brisbane area since 2 January cannot visit people in aged care or health care facilities in NSW. Genome sequencing has confirmed a Queensland case of COVID-19 has the more transmissible UK variant of the virus. NSW Health continues to closely monitor the situation and regularly updates its health advice.

05.01.2022 It was an honour to be amongst the fabulous volunteer of Gift Of Bread at Tempe. These amazing people every day of the week collect unsold loaves of bread from local bakeries and supermarkets, toast them, package them, and then donate them to the neediest in our community. These volunteers work feeding the homeless, supplying soup kitchens, refuges, halfway houses and breakfast clubs. If you want to make a real difference to the community the Gift of Bread is always looking from volunteers. You can volunteer through the Centre of Volunteering at https://www.volunteering.com.au/#/

05.01.2022 Remembering Frank Balbi at his memorial bowls day (on the hottest Sunday of the year!). It was an honour to present Frank's son Robert and the Mascot RSL Sub-Branch with Parliamentary recognition of his remarkable service. I paid tribute to Frank's life and in the Parliament of NSW and this what I told parliament as it appears in Hansard. "I note with sadness the passing of Francis ‘Frank’ Balbi, late of Rosebery, a friend and a beloved member of the Mascot RSL Sub-branch. "C...ranky Franky" as he was affectionately known passed from this life on Wednesday 22 July, aged 98 years and seven months. Frank lived a long, remarkable life. Born in Malta, he survived the Great Depression, joined the Royal Malta Artillery and served on the searchlights of Dingli Heights during the Second World War. Like every resident of Malta during the war, he was awarded the George Cross for great heroism in the face of Axis bombardment. He was believed to be the last living Maltese exserviceman in Australia, a point of pride. He never missed an Anzac Day march in Mascot. Frank met his wife Alice in an air raid shelter in Malta and together they immigrated to Australia in 1950, settling in Rosebery in 1959. Frank worked as motor trimmer for the Department of Supply and was a keen fisher and competitive lawn bowler, but his greatest love was for family and friends. Alice passed in 2017, and they are survived by their son Robert and grandchildren Kelly and Mark. Vale Frank." #LestWeForget

05.01.2022 Lockdown kept us apart for a few months but it was lovely to join Lillian Dorry of Sydenham and the Dorry family to wish her a very happy 90th birthday. I don't think she looks a day over 70. Happy birthday Lillian

04.01.2022 No community transmission for 3 days in a row NSW Health reports. Also no-one in the state in an Intentsive Care Unit. That is just remarkable. In this video, I have just briefly run through the change reports. Also no-one in the state in an Intensive Care Unit. That is just remarkable.to 30, the increase in bookings for hospitality venues and the increase in numbers permitted in places of worship. Visitors to your home have not changed these are still limited to 20. Pleasse ...remember the virus is still circulating in the community and get tested if you have the most mildest of symptoms. The locations for testing is contained in the link in this post. Stay safe, everyone! 04.01.2022 The Auditor General of the Audit Office of New South Wales recently came out with a shocking report that the final cost of the CBD South East Light Rail will be $3.3 billion dollars. That's more than double the original estimate of $1.6 billion. Regardless of any benefit that may come about from the Light Rail that is an astounding mismanagement of money. This is exactly what we've come to expect from this wasteful, incompetent Government.

03.01.2022 Congratulations to the Windgap Foundation Warriors football team who are Champions once again! Even the star power of Clr Christina Curry was not enough to get the Windgap Staff team over the line, with the Warriors triumphing 4-2. Windgap's end of year game and Christmas party really is the place to be, with local celebrities like Windgap Patron Paul Graham OAM spotted in taking the beautiful weather. This was the first year celebrating after the passing of Pagewood Botany FC's George Lundy, who was sorely missed. It was great to see the President of this great community club, Glenn Redding, keeping up the Club's support for this wonderful organisation.

02.01.2022 My contribution to the Parliament of NSW on the petition debate to save our bus services. A community campaign lead by Marjorie O’Neill - Member for Coogee and Michael Daley MP 80,000 people signed petitions calling on the NSW Liberal Party government not to cut our 16 local bus routes. So hopeless is this government, in a letter I read out to the House, the government thought there were alternate routes to the CBD and Central Station. However, it was those services that the government was cancelling.

02.01.2022 It's the first day of summer and from today, NSW Health has eased some restrictions to increase numbers at home and in 'small' hospitality venues. From today the following restrictions have been eased: Small hospitality venues, up to 200 square metres in size, can use the 1 person per 2 square metre rule. Visitors to your home will increase from 20 to 50 if outdoors in your front or backyard or 30 if indoors.... Public gatherings in parks and outdoor spaces can increase from 30 to 50 people. See more

02.01.2022 I talked to Bayside Council's dedicated and hardworking Clr Christina Curry about the fight she and Cr Scott Morrissey and all the NSW Labor councillors are waging against the NSW Liberal Party decision to impose a massive rate increase of up to 51% upon the residents of our community. Christina is impressive as to how she is fighting for all of us. It is worth a look.

02.01.2022 Please check your E-tag account and let me know if this has happened to you. Thanks to that hardworking Sonia Hornery MPfor letting us know #tollmania #ripoff #ripoffalert

01.01.2022 38C in Rosebery today, 42.3C in Mascot and it is going to be even hotter tomorrow, so please be careful. Here are some tips from NSW Health on how to beat the heat: Keep yourself cool Wear loose-fitting clothing Stay out of the sun... Try to be indoors during the hottest part of the day. (which is now to and rest of the afternoon) Close windows and doors to keep the heat out. Curtains with light-coloured lining can help to reflect heat. Use air conditioning if you have it. Fans can also be effective Stay hydrated by drinking water Avoid alcoholic, hot or sugary drinks including tea and coffee (they can make dehydration worse) If you go outside, carry a bottle of water with you Look out for each other Keep in contact with elderly friends, neighbours and relatives during a heatwave in case you or they need any help. 01.01.2022 If you live in Mascot, Eastlakes, or Rosebery in my electorate or any of the other suburbs of the former Botany Bay City Council, these are your Bayside Council NSW Liberal Party councillors who voted to increase your rates by up to 51% whilst voting to cut their own rates. All NSW Labor councillors voted against terrible decision. At a time when so many thousands of people are out of work and in financial stress these heartless Liberals and independents councillors from Ro...ckdale, none who live in our area, have shown such scan regard for people's struggle. Our hard working Councillors Clr Christina Curry and Cr Scott Morrissey are leading the fight to overturn this decision at the next council meeting. The two Liberal councillors who you elected to represent you are shown in this post together with their council funded phone number. Let them know what you think.

01.01.2022 In October 1940, Benito Mussolini, the fascist dictator of Italy, backed by Germany, demanded to occupy Greece. General Ioannis Metaxas famously responded "Oxi!" - "No!" in Greek. Today, that blunt refusal is a national holiday for Greeks around the world, commemorated by marches and celebrations. It is a day where Greeks remember their Hellenic values, passion and 'filotimo,' and the courageous words and deeds of their ancestors who fought for their land with flesh and blood.... To all Greeks around the world Happy Oxi Day!

01.01.2022 Instead of cutting bus services in Kingsford and Kensington to get people onto the empty light rail, I made a better suggestion to the Parliament of NSW.

01.01.2022 Today’s Sunday Telegraph. Not hard to work out why Gladys Berejiklian wants to strip the NSW Liberal Party brand from council elections if the Bayside Council Liberal councillors are the standard bearers of the Liberals. Putting council rates up 51% during a pandemic and recession, and brawling in the streets of the local government area, with Liberal Party members charged with assaulting our police, does wonders for the Liberal brand.
