22.01.2022 Short video explaining what financial planners are and what they do.
22.01.2022 Something that came across my email box today around the market movements as a result of CononaVirus. Worth a watch. Please note that this is general advice only and not an endorsement of any financial products. 20.01.2022 So here is a question? Is it really possible to maintain your current standard of living when you go from an net income of $2800 per fortnight to $1000 per fortnight?
19.01.2022 A short Video running through what investment risk and how to manage it.
17.01.2022 Some things to learn here. If you ever get a large sum like this, maybe advice on how to make it grow would be worthwhile. This couple are now no better off than they were two years ago, and maybe in a worst position.
16.01.2022 Tip of the day, week or whatever, always consider your ability to earn an income as your most valuable asset. Consider what will happen to your plans, goals or objectives if that ability is interrupted or even ceases altogether. What will you do then?
06.01.2022 So here is a question. After looking at things like Sick Leave, Annual Leave and savings, how many days could you go without your income if you had a serious illness or injury

04.01.2022 You would have seen over the weekend that the Government announced a Stimulus Package designed to get funds into the hands of people affected by Covid-19. While some of this is good, I am personally concerned about the use of accessing your super to fund you to the tune of $10,000 this year and next year. Couple of things to consider if you want to access this: * You need to meet a strict criteria * You need to contact the ATO Directly to get access and not your super fund. ...As part of the request you will need to certify that you meet the criteria. * If you do access your super BEWARE that you are doing this in a period of falling market conditions, which means you are selling down assets at depressed values. Which means your super funds will be selling their investments at depressed values in order to meet your requests. https://treasury.gov.au//Fact_sheet-Early_Access_to_Super_
01.01.2022 So here is a quote from the SHM toady about using opt in on future mandated rises in the SGC. The Callaghan report found a more efficient use of savings at the current guarantee rate would do more for people's lifestyles in retirement than hiking the guarantee. "Using superannuation assets more efficiently and accessing equity in the home can significantly boost retirement incomes without the need for additional contributions," the report said. While I agree better investments within super and pension accounts is needed, and this require active interest by savers and retirees and access to affordable advice services, telling retirees to borrow to fund lifestyle expenses via using equity in their home is short sighted. And this is how most people will view that comment at first pass.
