21.01.2022 The Imaginarium Kids Mural Project. There are 4 beds in the Pediactric Emergency Department observation area. The available space posed some challenges as to devising an interesting engaging visual. There was one large wall area available that was used to create a feature piece that would accompany 3 tree graphics, each one defined with different native animals and parrot species flying around the walls. Thanks again to TW Signs, One of a Kind Community Support, Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation, Avery Dennison, Graphic Art Mart for their support in his project.

13.01.2022 The Imaginarium Kids Mural Project - Pediactric Emergency Department. Tamworth Regional Referral Hospital. The treatment room was one of the key areas where this work is vital in assisting health care professionals to aleviate anxiety in their young patients. This was acheived by designing a vibrant and busy underwater scene packed with details to create an opportunity to distract a child's attention whilst various necessary procedures are performed. Arts in Health initiative...s such as this project play an important role both for the clinicians caring for children, and the young patients experience and recovery by creating a supportive and engaging environment that appeals to a broad age demographic. We would again like to acknowledge the many organisations that assisted us in realising our vision TW Signs, One of a Kind Community Support, Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation, Avery Dennison, Graphic Art Mart, Northcott, as well as local Lions Clubs and Rotary Clubs. 09.01.2022 Stage 2: The Imaginarium Kids Mural Project. Earlier this year we had a meeting with the clinicians in the ED unit with the intention of expanding the Arts in Health focused project to include the Emergency Pediatric Unit. The unit comprises of an external examination room in the main ED section, 4 beds within the pediatric unit, 2 isolation rooms and the treatment room. The design concept was focused on Australian flora and fauna. This project has been an extremely rewarding... experience and a pleasure to be involved with the many local community groups, TW Signs, One of a Kind Community Support, Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation, Avery Dennison, Graphic Art Mart whose contribution through funding and materials allowed this to be gifted to Tamwoth Base Hospital-ER. As there are many featured murals we will share them throughout the week. This first selection of murals are located in the main common areas of the unit. See more

04.01.2022 With Stage 2 of The Imaginarium Kids Mural Project about to be installed at the Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital, we would like to take this opportunity to update everyone on its future, look at the amazing journey we have experienced to date, and to thank the many supporters locally, nationally, and internationally who have made this community project possible. The 'Imaginarium' concept allows freedom of imagination and expression, creating a welcoming, friendly and colourfu...l space. The graphic style was developed to work in harmony with the architecture and strong blocks of colour throughout the ward. We have approached each mini mural uniquely in concept but unified in design style. This enhances the visual diversity and removes the predictability of a narrative. With a large target audience of 0-18 year olds; the use of bold and age-neutral designs combined with a sense of spatial-consciousness helps provide a consistently beneficial environment for patients, their families and the staff assisting them. Read the full story below in the gallery, and have a look at some of the currently installed murals. Let us know in the comments which mural is your favourite!
