25.01.2022 This year, Sydney’s Fastest Executive race pivoted to join Virtual City2Surf's 14km run, on 16 - 18 October. 15+ business executives showed off their physical endurance & flexed their philanthropic muscles and raised more than $50,000 towards Room to Read's COVID-19 relief fund! Well done to everyone who were involved and a big congratulations to our friends at Gilbert + Tobin Careers for winning the TOP Fundraising Impact Award by raising nearly $20,000.

24.01.2022 Yesterday was International #DayoftheGirl and our latest reporting finds that 1 in 2 of the more than 30,000 girls we surveyed in low-income communities in Africa and Asia are at risk of not returning to school. 23.01.2022 Well done to our Sydney Chapter team for successfully raising $1700 from the Aces for Education event on Friday, 6 November! It was a fun and eventful event with a women's doubles tennis competition, morning tea, and raffle prizes donated by local businesses. Thank you to all the volunteers, sponsors, bakers, tennis players and everyone involved, it was so wonderful to be surrounded by a warm generous community who wanted to help out, especially during this time. Also, a big shout out to Jodi Mullen for making this all possible and for her incredible effort and drive in coordinating the entire event.

18.01.2022 Just one of the reasons why Room to Read’s Literacy Program creates a path for underrepresented voices to be heard by pursuing the end of illiteracy globally. By training authors and illustrators all over the world to create children’s books, Room to Read is ensuring that global book creators have power over their own narratives and can develop stories that reflect the lived experiences of children in their communities. 07.01.2022 Today's #FridayFUNraiser shout-out goes to our friends at Ascender, who have launched their APAC "Battle of the Business Units" charity race campaign to raise funds for Room to Read. Ascender wanted to engage its employees across APAC in a way that provided both tangible benefits to their health, and an ability to participate in a great cause. Our long term charity partner Room to Read offered us a great way to build a fundraising campaign that helped support our overall initiative. - Inna Wahlberg, General Manager, Asia Services, Ascender

05.01.2022 For the first time ever, the Room to Read Sydney Chapter joined forces with the Room to Read Brisbane Chapter to host the Virtual Sip & Paint event on Saturday, 21 November. They successfully raised more than AUD$17,650 (Which includes corporate matching), which will help Room to Read support 505 children as they continue to learn from home during this time. We all had a lot of fun and enjoyed discovering our "inner Picasso"! We were truly impressed with everyone's creative contribution. A big shout out to our volunteers Iva Charlopova and Jane Baker for their dedication and hardwork towards organising and coming up with this very creative and inspiring event.
