24.01.2022 As were all gearing up towards the easing of restrictions and indoor contact sports being allowed, our head instructor James has completed the necessary tutorials and certification to ensure we operate within the safety guidelines prescribed by the NSW Government when we can finally open. We cant wait till were all back rolling on the mats!

23.01.2022 Kids Xmas Party Fun!!! The kids had a blast at our Christmas Party at Archie Brothers in Alexandria last weekend. Everyone enjoyed the Bowling, Arcade Games, Dodgem Cars, and Lazer Tag!! It was a perfect way to wrap up the year and have some fun with the kids off the mats. It was cool seeing the parents get in there and join in on the fun too. And who knew Santa was a Black Belt too Well done to all the kids from our 4-7yr, 8-12yr and Teens classes!!! You've all ...trained hard this year and put in your best efforts every class. We have built an amazing little team and our Matto Monsters will definitely be a force to be reckoned with come 2021 comp season!! Merry Christmas!!!

20.01.2022 Introducing our instructor, Professor James James is a Roots Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt instructor and competitor with over 15 years of experience. After teaching and training at the Roots St George gym, under Professor Robert Naumoski, he moved on to start and build a team of his own. His team has thrived under his teaching in classes which vary from all ages 4 and up. As one of Roots most active competitors, James always strives to stay on top of not only his own techn...iques but also staying current with all the latest techniques on the competition circuit. James has also trained in Brazil making him well grounded in the traditions and discipline of the martial art. 14.01.2022 Congratulations to all who were awarded stripes and belts last week at our end of year grading day. Everyone has been training hard since returning post lockdown and our team of Matto Monsters have been growing in numbers and skill. Looking around the room it was a proud moment seeing how far everyone has come and we couldn't ask for a better team. Having all 3 kids age group classes in the room all at once allowed each student to realise they were a part of a bigger te...am who push each other and help each other get better. It was especially special for the younger kids to see the other coloured belts and how higher belt gradings are done. They were all excited to train even harder to work on getting their next new belt. And finally a HUGE thank you to the parents who bring their kids day in day out to classes no matter how busy their schedules are. Without you, we wouldnt have this amazing team.
