25.01.2022 No Toll on the M4 - 2GB Interview Below The Premier is imposing an unfair tax on the people of Western Sydney by re-introducing a toll on the M4. This will mean... motorists will pay more than $2,000 per year and a further $2,000 per year from 2019. We have already paid for this motorway in 2010 when the toll was removed. The Premier promised the people of NSW that the sale of electricity would pay for this infrastructure and now he appears to be double dipping by selling the electricity and not investing in this infrastructure and imposing a new toll. This is not fair, write to the premier and let him know how you feel about this decision. See more

23.01.2022 #OPINION: The AFP's decision to raid a Labor office in the middle of an election campaign may be pure coincidence. But there's enough about this story to feed a narrative that it was more about politics than law enforcement, writes Michael Bradley for ABC The Drum.

15.01.2022 Delighted to catch up with the former Father of the House Richard Amery, who served at a member of the Parliament of NSW for 32 years as the Member for initia...lly Riverstone and then Mount Druitt. He served as a Minister of the Crown, Opposition Whip and prior to entering parliament was a police officer. I served with Richard for several years until his retirement in 2015. He was known for many things but what always stood out for me was he always used a typewriter to prepare his documents. Many of my younger colleagues I dont think had seen a typewriter in use previously. He also kept a small notebook in his pocket and wrote everything down just like he did as a police officer. You could never win an argument with Richard, he always had a note of anything that happened or what you might have said. A detailed knowledge of the parliaments standing orders, parliamentary procedures and conventions were Richards trademark. I certainly did not leave Richards company without a list of standing orders, procedures or current legislation (particularly renewal rights of cemeteries) that require parliaments consideration.

14.01.2022 If you have a spare hour or two tomorrow to hand out my How to Vote, please contact my Campaign Team on 0419 564 036.

11.01.2022 MESSAGE FROM RICHARD AMERY. BRANCH SECRETARY. AUSTRALIA POST DELIVERIES. Members are advised that the next meeting of our Branch will be held AT 7.30PM on Friday the 12th February 2016. The venue will be the usual location, the Rooty Hill Senior Citizens Hall. This Facebook post is not a replacement for the Branch notice which will, hopefully arrive on the Monday before the meeting. So why, you may ask, is the reason for this message?... The reason is, AUSTRALIA POST have made some dramatic changes to the way your mail will arrive in future. Basically, the changes mean that you will pay about 43 percent more for a Postage Stamp from the 4th January, just gone. As a result, the postage stamp has increased from 70 cents to $1.00. But theres more! This record increase will not improve the service. In fact, Australia Post advise that it will now take an extra one to three days to deliver the mail than it did last year for 70 cents. It gets better!! Australia Post say that they can deliver your mail as quick as they did last year. All you have to do is first buy the new $1.00 postage stamp and then buy a Priority sticker for 50 cents, and then put them both on the envelope. That way, for $1.50, you can maintain the level of service we used to get for 70 cents. Now that is an increase of over 100 percent to maintain the same level of service. Not many people have heard of this increase and reduction of service. You have to go looking for the details. It begs the question. Can you imagine the reaction to this increase and reduction in service, had they occurred under the Rudd or Gillard Government? Richard Amery

05.01.2022 This past weekend, Marie and I dropped into the home of Robyn and Roger PRICE in Dixon Street, Mount Druitt. There we found Roger and Robyn in the final stages of loading their belongings into a removal van for their move to Queensland. So, on Sunday the 14th October, Roger and Robyn flew out of Sydney to start a new chapter in their life in Queensland. This has brought to an end, a life of nearly 50 years in the local area where they raised their four children, Michelle, Ste...phanie, Ben and Courtney. With the exception of Stephanie, all of the children and their families had moved to Queensland in the recent past. I know I speak for a lot of locals when I say that they will be missed. Roger Price was the Federal member for CHIFLEY from 1984 to 2010. During this time he held many positions, including Parliamentary Secretary to Prime Minister Hawke and Parliamentary Secretary to Defence Minister Beazley. Roger also served as Chief Opposition Whip and Chief Government Whip before retiring and taking up a three year posting as the Consul general to Chicago. I enjoyed a long and friendly working relationship with Roger and we often teamed up to fight for many local causes, such as the Western Sydney University, The Chifley Senior College, the Mount Druitt Hub and a multitude of projects for local schools, to name just a few. In the Electorate, Roger was often recognised for taking up issues on behalf of individuals who had been having problems with Government departments. Since both of our retirements, we have met up regularly to have a yarn over a cup of coffee. Something I will miss. Roger and Robyns presence in the local Branch will also leave a gap as they have both served in key Branch positions, including Secretary and campaign Director. So farewell Roger and Robyn, from Marie, myself and all the Members of the Rooty Hill Branch. Good luck in Queensland and be it known, you will always be welcome whenever you visit Mount Druitt in the future. The district owes you both a debt of gratitude. Richard Amery Secretary. Photos, Taken just before departing for the airport on Sunday afternoon 14th Oct.
