13.01.2022 And the final count is 63 Christmas trees!!! We had an amazing time traveling all over Brisbane city, riding on buses and trains, as well as lots of walking. As well as finding trees, we visited key landmarks including the Town Hall at King George Square, the Story Bridge, Chinatown in the Valley, The Myer Center, Queens St Mall, Parliament House and many more places. We also found many other interested things, that weren't trees.... 10.01.2022 Gardening Group spent the day at Basilea Living Herb Farm Burpengary. We had a very informative tour by Sarah who owns and runs the farm. We picked & tasted some interesting edible herbs and flowers. Some of the guys volunteered to put on PPE and got involved in a hands on workshop making potting mix and planting Red Aramanth, Social Garlic, & Warrigal Spinach into a wickerself watering planter also some thyme which we could keep. We learnt how to split up plant roots, looked at different edible flowers, came away inspired with skills and ideas we can adopt in our own Community Garden. We were treated to a beautiful morning tea of snacks & drinks made with some of the farm’s produce. #Rope #NDIS #growingherbs #edibleflowers #CommunityAccess #skillsdevelopment #support

10.01.2022 Today the gardening group went on a guided tour of this amazing herb farm owned by Sarah. We learnt how to make a balanced potting mix using a base soil mix, Coir peat made from coconut husk, perlite to keep well drained, minerals & compost that provides food for your plants. #CommunityAccess #basilealivingherbfarm #gardening #herbs #freshisbest #lifeskills
