22.01.2022 We would like to congratulate Mayor Judy MacFarlane, who has recently been re-elected as a Member of the Local Government Association of the Northern Territory (LGANT) Executive. Elections took place on Friday 6 November in Alice Springs and Mayor MacFarlane was one of six members to be elected. Now with fifteen years of experience in Local Government, Mayor MacFarlane believes that being involved with LGANT helps to better serve her local Roper Gulf Region. ... Being a Member of LGANT’s Executive gives our Council another avenue for communication between our neighbouring Council’s and also provides the opportunity to advocate for our region. Quite often what is brought up in these meetings concerns all of us, rather than just one Council area, and here we can come together to work on developing strategies for our local communities, Mayor MacFarlane said. Roper Gulf Regional Council is honoured to have Mayor MacFarlane as the Mayor of our Council and look forward to seeing what more she can do for our towns and communities. Mayor MacFarlane is pictured here with the Hon. Chancy Paech MLA Minister for Local Government at the LGANT Elections, Alice Springs. #RoperGulfRegion
