25.01.2022 Shame. Shame. Shame on Councillor Bingham, Mayor Regans chief offsider. Thank you to Jason Falinski MP for supporting our community against Councils senseless rate rise and slashing of infrastructure funding during the Covid-19 pandemic. Deputy Mayor Candy Bingham has told Mr Falinski to "mind his own business". The fact is, were all part of this community and its all our business when Councils do the wrong thing (in my opinion).... This is the same Councillor Candy Bingham who has consistently voted to raise your rates as much as possible, whilst also voting to receive the maximum Councillor pay from ratepayers. EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR. *The above comments are my views alone and are political in nature. Of course, others have other views and opinions. You can access the full council budget papers and info regarding Councils Covid-19 response on Councils website if you would like to be further informed.

24.01.2022 Council paints over Australian Flag What do you think After being inspired by community spirit on ANZAC Day, a resident painted the Aussie flag on his local cul-de-sac road. Council very quickly painted over the flag citing safety concerns. Now the residents want it back. Of course, road safety is important, so we cannot have markings on semi-busy or busy roads. But, something like this in a cul-de-sac should be ok?... Thank you Councillor Pat Daley OAM for raising this issue.

24.01.2022 Wakehurst Parkway flood proof funding Pleased that the NSW Government’s budget has provided13m funding to work on flood proofing the Parkway!

23.01.2022 #BinGate the truth exposed PART 1 A secret cache of leaked internal Council emails reveal a hidden truth about Councils $13 million bin roll out #BinGate saga. secret emails reveal that Council directed its waste contractor URM to dispose of old bins which were not collected by SULO, who was paid $13m to recycle and replace Councils old bins. ... secret emails reveal Council did not direct URM to recycle the old bins. In good faith, URM assisted Council and helped collected old bins as requested. In 2019, Council wasted (IMO) $13m paying SULO to replace 300,000 bins, many of which did not need replacing. Council promised that 100% of old bins would be recycled. I exposed that some of your old bins were ending up in landfill at Kimbriki tip. Council alleged that any allegations of systemic bin dumping were false and that my expose was a one off incident. It was not a one off incident. Council also allege that any bins in landfill were retrieved. Stay tuned for PART 2

22.01.2022 OFFICIAL COVID-19 update Current restrictions remain in force. When questioned, the Premier seemed to indicate that outdoor gatherings of 10 in the south and 5 in the peninsula zone were permitted for picnics and other recreation.... NSW recorded seven locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, with an additional four cases in returned travellers in hotel quarantine. Six of the locally acquired cases are linked to the Avalon cluster. Investigations continue into the source of the Avalon cluster, which now numbers 122.

21.01.2022 Council has used 600,000 plastic bags, glass bottles to produce a new asphalt for our local roads. Council is trialling the asphalt technology on Sorlie Road, Frenchs Forest and Elanora Road, Elanora Heights. Council will monitor the cost and performance of the trial to determine if the product and its cost makes it viable moving forward

21.01.2022 Get down to The Beaches Market each Friday and support local business like Liv & Dans coffee cart Locals have reported to me that the Beaches Market at Warriewood has made a Covid-19 rule banning shoppers from buying coffee before they shop. Apparently, having a coffee unacceptably slows shoppers down. But, its also kind of hard to buy and drink a coffee at the end of a shop with your arms full of shopping. Locals are concerned that this ban will negatively impact local business. What do you think of the pre-shopping coffee ban

21.01.2022 With the newest nephew!

20.01.2022 Great to join fellow Councillors and Council staff for what is (hopefully) our last Councillor briefing by ZOOM. Thoughts on my lighthearted swish new virtual background, dedicated to the Covid-19 memorial *Note: I oppose the minimum $100,000 on the Covid-19 memorial

18.01.2022 COVID-19 MEMORIAL ARTWORK APPROVED The true measure of leadership is not when you vote for your own ideas but when you vote against them because the community does not support them. Our community seems to oppose ratepayer funds being spent on a Covid-19 artwork.... Despite this opposition, last night, Mayor Regan, his political party, Deputy Mayor Bingham and the Greens Councillor voted again to spend a minimum of $100,000 of your money on a Covid-19 memorial artwork to celebrate the way the community came together during the pandemic. The funds are from a fund of $2 million allocated towards public art projects. It could cost up to $1.7 million.* You can watch the Council meeting debate and review the full decision on Councils website *This cost is highly unlikely and the more likely cost is between $100,000 and $250,000. Any actual expenditure is subject to further Council approval.

17.01.2022 COVID-19 MEMORIAL ARTWORK UPDATE 7NEWS Sydney reports on Councils plan for a Covid-19 artwork. Councillor Philpott says that a Covid-19 artwork for a minimum of $100,000 is exactly what the community want.... SIGN THE PETITION AGAINST THE ARTWORK HERE https://tinyurl.com/yc3jkx28

17.01.2022 Beach parking stickers black market Is it fair for landlords to sell council parking stickers for locals to non-residents and refuse to pass them on to their tenants Council needs to do more in this space...

17.01.2022 Merry Christmas one and all. Despite the fires, floods, drought, and covid-19 pandemic of 2020, I hope you can all, in some way, celebrate today with your loved ones, remembering the real meaning of today - love, hope, peace and salvation. Thanks to all our health care workers who continue to work so hard, even through Christmas. my best gift is my NEGATIVE covid-19 result received this morning, meaning I don’t have to isolate on Christmas Day!

17.01.2022 Council to deploy Covid cops? Mayor Regan's nanny state Council plans to deploy Covid cops over summer... We should all take Covid-19 seriously and be personally responsible for our own safety, but Mayor Regan's proposal for Covid cops is a bit much.... What do you think Council will ask residents, including volunteer fire fighters, volunteer surf life savers, and all other community volunteers to volunteer more of their summer to be Covid cops. The Covid cops (dubbed "ambassadors") will roam local parks and beaches reminding people to stay 1.5m away and socially distance *This post is my opinion and view on this matter. You can access further information on Council's website*

16.01.2022 nice touch by Jason Falinski, James Griffin MP, Member for Manly, and Cllr David Walton presenting Freshwater resident Jason with an Australian flag after Council painted over his painted flag

16.01.2022 COVID-19 MEMORIAL COULD BE CANCELLED Spoke with Ben Fordham on 2GB 873 - Sydney Talk Radio about the Covid-19 memorial this morning. I dont think Mayor Regan gets it. He says the concept of the Covid-19 memorial was poorly communicated, which suggest he thinks the Covid-19 memorial is actually a good idea... ... After his own political party protested on the weekend to save the Covid-19 memorial and Public Art Trail, Mayor Regan has announced he intends to ask Council to cancel the Covid-19 memorial.... BUT, he wont cancel it until September 2020. Positive signs, but Ill keep you updated.

15.01.2022 COVID-19 MEMORIAL ARTWORK UPDATE: Council decides to spend at least $100,000 and up to a highly unlikely $1.7 million on the memorial. Last night, Council resolved to spend a minimum of $100,000 on a Covid-19 memorial artwork. The funds are from a fund of $2 million allocated towards public art projects. It could cost up to $1.7 million (but this is highly unlikely). The Mayor has sought and was given assurances that the memorial artwork would not cost $1.7 million. I voted... against this proposal and have taken urgent steps to prevent council progressing this ridiculous idea. Any actual expenditure is subject to further Council approval. Mayor Regan and Deputy Mayor Bingham (pictured below), Councillor Philpott and Mayor Regans political party, the Greens Councillor all voted for this. The full resolution is in the comments. You can watch the Council meeting debate and review the full proposal on Councils website. *The above comments are my views alone and are political in nature. Of course, others have other views and opinions. You can access the full council budget papers and info regarding Councils Covid-19 response on Councils website if you would like to be further informed.

15.01.2022 Council to demolish community bike jumps at The Grove Bike Park, Seaforth - mountain bikers denied a fair share Disappointed that, last night, Council voted to demolish community built bike jumps without making proper provision for mountain bikers moving forward. I voted against the demolition. I was also disappointed that Council refused an 18 year old the right to address Council on this important matter.... The jumps to be abolished have been in existence for quite some time and were originally unauthorised. Council refused to try authorise the jumps. This is a ham-fisted decision where Council is addressing the symptom, not the root cause - a lack of amenity for mountain bikers. I will keep fighting to ensure all members of the biking community have a fair share of public land. Trail Care NoBMoB - Northern Beaches Mountain Biking Group *This post represents my views on this matter. You may obtain more info by contacting council*

15.01.2022 Expediting the off-leash dog trial @ Station Beach In August 2019, Council approved a trial of off-leash dogs on a certain part of Station Beach, Palm Beach, at certain times. The commencement of this trial has been delayed due to legal proceedings against Council which might not be decided until 2021. This delay is not good enough.... At Councils meeting on Tuesday, I have two items for Councils consideration which could ensure the Station Beach trial is expedited to occur sooner, than if we waited for the Court case to be decided. 15.01.2022 WIND FARM PROPOSED FOR NORTH HEAD, MANLY Zali Steggall supporter, Roger Bain of Global Warming Solutions, wants to build eight 100m high wind turbines on National Park Lands at North Head and a one hectare solar farm behind the International College of Management School in Manly. James Griffin MP, Member for Manly gave the proposal "a big fat no". Zali Steggall would not rule out the proposal only saying she was "doubtful" that North Head was an appropriate location for a wi...nd farm on the Northern Beaches. At Councils July meeting, I am calling on elected Councillors to officially oppose this Wind Farm proposal. What do you think

14.01.2022 UPDATE: Council to build a $100,000+ memorial artwork to Covid-19 SIGN THE PETITION AGAINST THE $100,000 COVID-19 MEMORIAL ARTWORK HERE- https://tinyurl.com/yc3jkx28 Councillor Philpott has amended her proposal for a memorial artwork to Covid-19 by asking Council to spend $100,000 of your money on the memorial artwork, instead of having the project funded by community donations. The $100,000 are from a fund of $2 million allocated towards public art projects.... The cost may exceed $100,000 and Council would ask the community to donate funds to make up the difference. I oppose this wasteful proposed expenditure. In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, Council is slashing infrastructure investment by $20 million, at a time when that investment could be stimulating our local economy. These cuts include slashing the new footpath budget by over 25% from $3 million to $2.2 million. The proposal is being made by Frenchs Forest Ward Councillor, Penny Philpott. Councillor Philpott was elected to Northern Beaches Council as a member of Mayor Regans political party, the Your Northern Beaches Independent Team. SIGN THE PETITION AGAINST THE $100,000 COVID-19 MEMORIAL HERE-https://tinyurl.com/yc3jkx28 *The above comments are my views alone and are political in nature. 11.01.2022 Council subject to cyber attacks Recently, one of Councils webpages was defaced with, according to Council staff, malicious content (see below). Council was made aware of this by Cybersecurity NSW and the malicious file was deleted within an hour. The affected modules of Council;s website were updated as per recommendations from Australian Cyber Security Centre, and a web application firewall was installed to add further protection. In light of the global escalation of cyber warfare, I will be asking Council staff to provide Councillors a full update on these matters, to ensure your valuable data and privacy are protected.

10.01.2022 freezing your council rates is the compassionate thing to do LIKE and SHARE if you agree Sarah sent me this email in response to my call for a Council rate freeze and councillor pay cut.... I will always fight for the Sarahs of our community. At tomorrow nights extraordinary Council meeting, Im asking Council to freeze rates - an act of compassion for struggling residents like Sarah. Council serves the people, not the other way round. We have a plan to share the sacrifice and Council should adopt it.

09.01.2022 How good is Gladys. Never been prouder of the best Premier in the Country She’s showing tremendous leadership through fires, floods, drought, a pandemic, and now defending sensible policy Also proud of my local Member for Pittwater, Rob Stokes, speaking truth #FactsMatter

09.01.2022 Bravo to NSW Treasurer Dom Perrottet MP for calling out Northern Beaches Council on the Covid-19 memorial artwork Council has or may approach the NSW Government for almost $1.2 million in emergency Covid-19 support to "Maintain jobs and services" ... According to the Treasurer, a Covid-19 memorial is not what he had in mind...

09.01.2022 Click here to read the Covid-19 memorial update which answers all your questions - http://eepurl.com/g6fIcL. Below is a residents lighthearted proposal for what the Covid-19 memorial could (but wont) look like.

09.01.2022 PROTEST HELD TO SAVE COVID-19 MEMORIAL soooooo.... What do you think about Deputy Mayor Bingham and Councillor Philpotts protest to save their COVID-19 memorial artwork and public art Less than 20 turned up Disappointingly, Mayor Regan and Council has now twice voted to proceed with the memorial, despite immense community opposition. Unless Council votes to abandon the memorial artwork, it will proceed as already decided.

08.01.2022 Freeze Council rates to protect local business which is being decimated by the Covid-19 pandemic In April 2019, 399,000 people came to Manly by Ferry. In April 2020, it was only 24,000 LIKE and SHARE if you agree. Council is proposing to increase rates 2.6% (with a 50% rebate)... This is why it is so important to reduce pressure on business by freezing rates.

07.01.2022 Chilli Update - owner of dangerous dogs convicted I continue to pursue strong action against the owner of the dangerous dogs that killed Chilli in 2019. The owner was banned from owning a dog for a period of time. The owner failed to comply with the ban and I have been demanding strong action against him.... I am pleased to report that the owner was sentenced this week and the Court made the following orders: 1The defendant is convicted of an offence under the Companion Animals Act 2Defendant fined $700 3Defendant ordered to pay Councils costs of $6,000 I will be asking Council to ensure the defendant pays every cent owed.

07.01.2022 Is this Mayor Michael Regan trying to stifle debate on the COVID-19 artwork? What do you think Check out this innocuous post about the Covid-19 artwork which Mayor Regan reported on a Facebook Group. I understand his view is the Treasurers tweet is misleading. In my three years on Council I have been contacted by a Facebook Group Administrator from time to time advising that Mayor Regan has complained about or reported my posts on Facebook Groups which do not reflect favor...ably on Council and/or him. Well ... now we have more proof. *The above comments are my views alone and are political in nature. Of course, others have other views and opinions.

07.01.2022 COVID-19 memorial update Today, Deputy Mayor Bingham and I spoke with Mark Levy on 2GB 873 - Sydney Talk Radio. What do you reckon... The Deputy Mayor has previously described the Covid-19 memorial as a Covid-19 memory artwork. She confirmed council could spend $150,000 on the Covid-19 artwork. At the same time, Council is also raising your rates, and cutting infrastructure spending $20m.

07.01.2022 COVID-19 MEMORIAL ARTWORK UPDATE Mayor Regan has just phoned in to Ben Fordham on 2GB 873 - Sydney Talk Radio to defend Councils Covid-19 artwork. He seemed very nervous when he was questioned about paying at least $150,000 for a Covid-19 artwork when Council was raising rates... You can sign the petition against the Covid-19 artwork here - https://tinyurl.com/yc3jkx28... He said that "The sculpture will be an art piece that celebrates the way the community came together."

06.01.2022 Worst. Idea. Ever* *This is my opinion only.

06.01.2022 #BinGate truth exposed Part 2 When will Mayor Regan ask staff to front up to Councillors and make our contractors available for questioning about the dumping of old bins during the $13m bin roll out? another of many secret emails reveal that, on 28 May 2019, Council asked URM to collect and dispose of what I approximate to be about 50 old bins which should have been collected by SULO and recycled.*... URM acted as a diligent and helpful contractor by helping Council. During the bin roll out, many bins were left on the streets for weeks. It seems that Council staff panicked, did the wrong thing, and asked URM to dispose of the bins to cover over the short comings of the bin roll out. Council deny systemic dumping of old bins during its $13m new bin roll out. But, emails dont lie... *Council also gave URM of emptying the bins and then providing them to SULO, but did not require URM to do this.

05.01.2022 30 endangered seahorses rescued Two thriving colonies of endangered seahorses at Forty Baskets and Little Manly Tidal Pools were in the best of hands when they were recently moved to a temporary home close by while both tidal pools are being rebuilt. More than 30 seahorses have been relocated so far from Forty Baskets and about 23 from Little Manly. The delicate operation to move them was carefully planned and carried out by specialist marine ecology consultants and environm...ental scientific diving contractors. Council waited until the seahorse breeding season had concluded at the end of April before moving them and beginning reconstruction work.

05.01.2022 This morning on 2GB 873 - Sydney Talk Radio with Ben Fordham talking Northern Beaches Councils wasteful* Covid-19 artwork: If you can find more people who support [the Covid-19] artwork than dont, I will build it myself. You can sign petition against the Covid-19 artwork here - https://tinyurl.com/yc3jkx28 *This is my opinion only.

05.01.2022 Sign the petition against the Terrey Hills - Duffys Forest 36% Rate Rise Around 380 residents on rural acreage in Duffys Forest and Terrey Hills will collectively have to pay an extra $480,000 next year, according to a resident acting on behalf of those affected. Their rates will increase about 36%, on the back of a mooted 2.6% council rate rise.... It seems incredibly unfair that Terry Hills and Duffys Forest residents will be slugged an extra 36% in rates when they are not provided 36% greater services. PLEASE HELP SUPPORT OUR RESIDENTS BY SIGNING THIS PETITION REQUESTING COUNCIL TO INVESTIGATE LOWER RATES BEING TAKEN FROM THESE RESIDENTS.

05.01.2022 Terrey Hills & Duffys Forest Rate Rises Council staff have confirmed that, in total, 300 residential properties in Duffys Forest and Terrey Hills have projected increases above 30%,the remaining 792 properties in Duffys Forest and Terrey Hills have a projected average increase of 1.27%. Please see full advice below. Please sign my petition and I will keep fighitng for a more equitable outcome - https://tinyurl.com/y7nvy4s2

Also, not to mention Tonys extensive volunteer work with the RFS and other volunteer organisations. Heres Tony and some Davidson crew in Cooma after a hard days work during summers fires. And, congratulations to The Hon.
