23.01.2022 Prescribed Burn Notice - Rosa Brook Shire bushfire volunteers will be assisting DFES with a prescribed burn tomorrow Thurs 5 November 2020. The area is North East of the Rosa Brook Road and Crozier Road intersection. Please observe signage in place.

21.01.2022 A lucky escape but a stark reminder of the dangers of using machinery on very high fire danger days. Todays fire was started by a slasher working in the vineyard hitting a small piece of wire sparking and taking off across the paddock. Fortunately the property owner had put in a well constructed firebreak along the bush line which stopped it jumping into the state forrest. Thanks to the DABC crews who assisted us today. So before undertaking any friction based work, it is a...lways a good idea to check the fire danger ratings (www.emergency.wa.gov.au) and if the fire danger is Very High or above, leave the slasher, mower, chainsaw, wippersnipper mulcher in the shed Above all, make sure you also have a plan of what to do when there is a fire Vist mybushfireplan.wa.gov.au to download the app and make your plan today.

21.01.2022 Helping out in the Lower South West and working with other agencies to make Summers safer for all of our communities is a great part of volunteering. Thanks to all the crews and agencies it was a rewarding day to work alongside such a great group of people in Kulikup today.

As for 2021, I am sure it will bring us a few more challenges but with the Brigade we have I am sure we will handle it in true Rosabro...ok style. Stay Safe and enjoy your Christmas Break and checkout this link and make your fire plan. https://mybushfireplan.wa.gov.au/ Kind regards Richard Moroney Captain Rosabrook VBFS.

18.01.2022 The Department of Fire and Emergency Services Facebook Page has been impacted by this morning’s Facebook changes restricting news pages. While we work to restore this service, you can still access all Alerts and Warnings, Total Fire Bans and Fire Danger Ratings through the following: ... www.emergency.wa.gov.au 13 DFES (13 3337) DFES Twitter (dfes_wa) ABC Local Radio

17.01.2022 Todays training took us on an excursion to the Busselton Airport where we had the opportunity to have a guided tour over this years aerial firefighting resources and get to meet the amazing pilots and ground crew who keep them in the air, the new LAT will be an amazing resource and we are all looking forward to seeing it on the fireground. Huge shout out to Nathan, Mike & Peter from DFES for making today possible.

14.01.2022 Our emergency services team are dedicated to protecting the WA Community, and we are now doing so on another level! HealthyWA's COVID-19 vaccine rollout now in...cludes eligibility for critical and high-risk workers, such as our fire and emergency services personnel. Fire and Emergency Services Commissioner Darren Klemm AFSM led the charge by rolling up his sleeve and getting the vaccination. The new rollout was highly successful with more than 400 vaccinations administered in the first two hours of this phase! #Rollup4WA If you have questions about the vaccine you can head to https://bit.ly/3v7yl48 WA Police and WA Health

01.01.2022 My Bushfire Plan With Summer rapidly approaching it is important you have a bushfire plan. Today DFES have launched the new Bushfire Plan website https://mybushfireplan.wa.gov.au and Bushfire Plan App For Apple https://apps.apple.com/au/app/my-bushfire-plan/id1540914064 or Android https://play.google.com/store/apps/details All it takes is for one hot and windy day for a bushfire to rapidly escalate and threaten life and property.... Having a bushfire plan will help you take action and avoid making last minute decisions that could prove deadly during a bushfire. The new app will help you with three very important decisions you need to make: o When will you leave? o What will you take? o Where will you go? Talk to your local brigade about what you might need if you choose to stay and defend, being under resorced can prove deadly If you are not fully prepared to stay and defend, then you must leave early. My Bushfire Plan app The My Bushfire Plan app has been developed locally in WA and gives the community a simple platform to create a bushfire plan either online or by downloading the app. Once completed, users are presented with a clear bushfire plan they can print, save, share or update any time on their device, so it is easily accessible when bushfire threatens and they need to act quickly. My Bushfire Plan also includes preparation checklists, bushfire factsheets, links to Emergency WA for current bushfire information and seasonal bushfire preparation reminders. Stay safe this summer and Prepare early, Plan early and Leave early. Remember for updates on current fires in your area check https://www.emergency.wa.gov.au
