18.01.2022 Somers Polar Bears unite against AGL. There are many that make up the Somers Polar Bears...we swim throughout the year relishing in the abundant ocean and birdlife. What unites us is our love of Westernport Bay, the environment; our passionate conversations are about pollution, safety of our ocean and birdlife.... Some of us so committed that we dedicated hours, weeks, months of research, to then rehearse our presentations to the Environment Effects Panel late last year. All presentations so very personal based on lived experience against the 17 storey gas flotation unit. Twice the size of the MCG sitting on world renowned wetlands??! One of the Polar Bears is Ms. Atmore an environmental solicitor and advocate. We all have given so much to this issue in our own way. This photo depicts our heartfelt love of the Westernport waters.
