08.01.2022 For those of us who love camping Day 2 Pesky Critters Yeswarm weather we say, perfect for barbecues and outdoor gatherings we say... That is until the flies and the mozzies start attacking! We don’t know about you, but we think this is the WORST part of the warmer weather. You may be used to having 3 different bug repellents on hand at any given time. You know that they are bad for you and your family, but you have no other option, right? Well we have some gre...at news for you, there is a natural option! Well a few actually! dTERRA are always one step ahead of us, so they created a perfectly balanced, natural repellent blend called TerraArmour [AKA TerraShield in the US]! There are 2 options. There is a 15ml option for diffusing or getting your DIY on, and there is also a 30ml spray bottle, prediluted, to save you time. The 15ml is best for diffusing wherever you are, so get your diffuser set up in your alfresco area and add 10-15 drops to ward away any pests from you and your guests. If you are using it inside, you can use about 5-8 drops in a large open space. For added potency, you can also add a few drops of Citronella and/or a few drops of Lemon Eucalyptus. The TerraArmour blend is amazing on its own, but there are a few critters that may need some extra oils to get the memo that they were not invited to your party! The 30ml spray is a must have for the beach bag or anytime when you are on the go for that personal protection. Just spray on your exposed skin and rub in. This is safe for kids also and doesn’t leave that gross feeling on your skin. You still have to watch the eyes though, as you would with anything else you put on your skin. HOT TIP: If you are at the beach where sand flies are really bad, add the spray to your natural sunscreen, rub together in your hands and then apply so that it mixes with your sunscreen and becomes a bit more waterproof. Just throw this blob in the dishwasher and run it on its usual cleaning cycle and they come out sparkling clean. Here's the recipe:... rounded cup baking soda cup unscented liquid castile soap 1 tbsp water 5-10 drops of lemon or wild orange essential oil Mix it up into a paste and keep in an airtight container. You can also use it to clean your bath, vanity bowls, tiles, and toilets. Give your toilet an excellent scrub. You can also pour some of it down the plughole and pour a little white vinegar on top, let it fizz up down the plug and clean your drains out. It's so versatile.
