23.01.2022 Just to confirm the closest 'Bush Fire Neighbourhood Safer Places' to the Rosebank community are: Corndale School Clunes Primarily School Dunoon Sports Club... These are listed by the RFS as a place of last resort during a bush fire emergency. They are to be used when all other options in your bush fire survival plan can't be put into action safely.

23.01.2022 While the fires are contained or extinguished locally,we are helping out in the canberra - Cooma region where theres still plenty of fires that are out of control . Dave

21.01.2022 It's permit time of year again.please contact your fire brigade permit officer,as listed in the village journal.alternatively, you can call Rfs control centre on 66630000 to discuss.A brigade member will have to assess your intended burn area for safety issues. Dave

18.01.2022 How fantastic has this rain been over the last week. Rosebank brigade members have done lots of deployments to other areas to help out while fire conditions are stable here. Heres a happy snap of some of us with 6 other north coast brigades. As well of a couple of action shots. We went down to bermagui and tathra to help contain fires threatening south coast communities. Athough we are getting rain there is still a state wide total fire ban in place. Dave

13.01.2022 Saturday afternoon at the hall.

13.01.2022 Our crew was acknowledged yesterday for their fire fighting efforts during last years bushfires.

13.01.2022 Fire permit season started 1st September again this year.the reason for permits is because it is a dangerous time of year for fires. If your pile can wait till after April to burn, then that is preferable.we can even help with the burn .be aware that permits will be suspended if weather conditions deteriorate .you can contact Dave,De or Didier to discuss a permit.our details are also in the VJ.

11.01.2022 Some more photos of our patrol today. As you can see the fire is slow moving. Dave

11.01.2022 Although the fires are within containment lines here we have been spending lots of time travelling down to the other fireground in the bungawalbyn _ whiporie area

11.01.2022 A crew spent today patrolling snows gully ,whian whian, and nightcap range national park. Things are good here at present with fires out,or under control. Extinguishing smouldering stumps and chainsawing fallen trees off fire trails makes sure it stays that way. Tomorrow helicopters will drop lots of water on that smouldering stump at snows gully and fire crews will help with the operation.Monday we will have a crew heading to the major fires south of sydney. Some members just returned from a deployment to the tamworth area today. Lets all hope for rain Dave

11.01.2022 Rosebank brigade has done a patrol of the coppers creek , peats mountain , and gibbergunyah road areas today . All containment lines are holding and current weather conditions over the next couple of days are being monitored

10.01.2022 The intensely Smokey conditions today are partly because of a wind shift and partly because the fire has moved across blue fig trail west of rummery lake into moist Forrest. This causes loads of smoke just like when you burn green foliage in a fire. Rural Fire service control have told me that the fire is still well within containment lines and not a cause for concern. Rosebank brigade will patrol the area again today and update our community if anything changes Dave

10.01.2022 This is not what we want to see again this year . Due to the ongoing heat ,winds and dry conditions predicted we are not going to be writing out fire permits for the time being. If you have a very small pile of wood that will burn out in a couple of hours, then we will consider it. Having said that,be prepared for fire control to suspend all permits with little notice. We do this for the safety of the broader community. Any questions, feel free to call captain Dave or deputy de.

09.01.2022 TOTAL FIRE BAN Sunday 29/11/20 has been declared a Total Fire Ban for the Far North Coast. Total Fire Ban rules...Continue reading

09.01.2022 Update as at at 6pm today The fire at Blue Fig road, Nightcap national park, is the only fire currently moving over containment lines. National parks have organised a dozer line to the north which has stopped it there and this light rain and cooler conditions have resulted in the fire heading south west towards rummery road, slowing right down. It is expected that rocky creek will contain it to the east and a wet gully on the south side will halt it there. There has been a couple of close looks at those two smoking stumps on snows gully. A large dead tree will continue to burn slowly until we get some good rain (hopefully friday). It poses no threat to property in the meantime. Dave

04.01.2022 Rosebank brigade patrolled from snows gully at upper Coppers Creek to Blue Fig road and Gibbergunyah road today . The two smoking spots you can see here are at Snows Gully below Perlite road and well within containment lines so pose no threat at present. The fire activity creating lots of smoke locally is along Blue Fig road north of nightcap range road. We are working with national parks to ensure it is contained east of Rummery road over the next week . Dave
