06.01.2022 Such a simple picture, does not even begin to tell the story of these young people ending a very chaotic 2020 with great success. The team at YFS have the pleasure to meet some very amazing young people, whom have overcome great obstacles and grown into incredible young people. Our Youth Support team have mentored young people through such a turbulent year, and helped them to keep on track to their greater goal of completing a year 10 education.... We always celebrate watching them meet goals, that they did not even know they set....such as: growing in resilience, develop positive social skills, learning to adapt, regulate emotions and refocus, when life is throwing them some pretty solid shade!! These simple pieces of paper are some of the first times these young people have experienced success and achievement off their own hard work. Well done to our BranchOut group! Watching you learn to love to learn, has been an absolute pleasure! 02.01.2022 Celebrating NAIDOC WEEK Roseberry Jack’s House Youth Shelter clients participated in NAIDOC Week, by learning about aspects of the history, and significance of the event. Clients coloured some NAIDOC Week posters, learned about the Darumbal people, and local Indigenous place names. Clients discussed the meaning of this year’s NAIDOC theme Always Was, Always Will Be and explored concepts around connections to land and the significance of local sites. #alwayswasalwayswillbe #naidocweek2020
