03.01.2022 Matchday Wrap-Up Massive Weekend in BUFC football! Our Youth League headed out to the cold of Hawkesbury City Soccer Club whereby the day got off on the wrong f...oot as our high flying under 13s unfortunately got unstuck by a very resolute Hawkesbury side. From there on it was all wins for the club! U13s - 1-0 loss U14s - 2-1 win U15s - 1-0 win 16s - 1-0 win On Sunday our seniors faced Western Condors FC in what would be a tricky away day on a Sunday afternoon in the run home for promotion. Our under 18s started the day with a smart, calm and collected 2-0 victory courtesy of Hayden Probert's double. The boys now are in a cluster of sides all within a point to each other, but will take 3rd spot to end the weekend. Our under 20s meanwhile continue their winning ways in a 3-1 victory. The goal of the day went to Club Captain Mathew Harrison who on his return from injury and illness smack a fine 25 yard shot into the top corner. Whilst in First Grade all seemed to be going to script when Haruki Nakano looped a header into the back of the net 5 minutes into the game to give us a 1-0 lead. From there unfortunately we didn't get out of gear. Condors took the game to us and from us! A goal midway through the half say Condors equalise and a penalty 10 minutes from time gave Condors the lead, with us down to 10 men. 2-1 down there was more than a mountain to climb, and we looked down and out. Then chaos broke loose. With what would of been moments of normal time left, Tom Markovski was felled on the edge of the area, giving us a chance to snag a draw. Up stepped Andreas Kartsioulis who curved and swerved the ball past the keeper the bring the equaliser. Most teams would of been contempt with the draw, but not these boys. Deep into stoppage time, Tom Markovski was the danger again, skipping into the box, he was brought down, this time the referee pointing to the spot. Up stepped Tommy, and cool as you can be slotted it into the net. 3-2! The squad broke into raptures, as moments later the final whistle went. A get out of jail free card there! It showed grit and determination from the boys. Now we prepare for a massive set of fixtures against Camden Tigers Football Club next Saturday night at Jensen. Seniors results: U18s - 2-0 win U20s - 3-1 win 1sts - 3-2 win #21ClubsOneTeam
