15.01.2022 Meet 'Mildred' the Golden Retriever! Mildred presented to us as she had been limping on her right front leg. Upon examination, and after performing radiographs and an intra-articular (into the joint) block, it was discovered that Mildred had severe Osteoarthritis in both of her elbows. In order to manage her arthritis, Mildred received allogeneic stem cell therapy. Stem cell therapy can help reduce inflammation and increase the presence of healthy cells in the body. The typ...e of stem cells that were injected develop into cartilage and bone, providing the affected joint with more cushioning and support. The stem cells are sourced from Monash University. They are stored in liquid nitrogen at the clinic and are immediately available for use. Mildred was sedated and both of her elbows were clipped and scrubbed. Stem cells were injected intra-articularly into both of her elbow joints using a needle and syringe. Mildred was restricted to lead exercise for two weeks and her owner has reported that she is doing exceptionally well just three weeks on!

03.01.2022 Meet ‘Cleo’ the Staffy Cleo was brought into Rose City Vets last Thursday as she was having difficulty giving birth naturally. Cleo had been struggling for quite a while to give birth but was not making any progress. Upon examination, we found that one of the pups had got stuck. We tried to remove the puppy manually but unfortunately this was not possible, so the decision was made to perform an emergency caesarean. ... Dr Peter and his team performed the surgery straight away and delivered 6 live puppies! Pictured below is very proud Mum with her adorable bunch of puppies
