23.01.2022 Baby 'Min' (Mini) being nursed back to health after the bushfire by Sherryl Smith of Wye River. Sherryl selflessly nurses them back to health, drives them to veterinary hospitals, and buries the ones that die. Sherryl lost her home, her cat and two of the koalas she had rescued in the fire. Her spirit, resilience and love of nature is inspirational. She taught me how to be calm with them, let them sniff you and gain their trust. It was life changing

14.01.2022 The forgotten victims of a bushfire are our beautiful koalas. They are all dehydrated and if they aren't able to be rehydrated soon enough, they suffer kidney failure and die. Then the loss of habitat is a part of their suffering we don't understand. The male has to fight other males for the new territory. As we see the recovery packages available for humans, it is the selfless work of volunteers that help these beautiful animals move forward. This cute little baby female was found weak, dehydrated and thin on the Great Ocean Road.

10.01.2022 Looking south west today and hoping the news is all wrong. I can't believe beautiful Rose Cottage is somehow gone. Heavy heart and misty eyes - you reminded me ...about how to possibly thrive and maybe flourish a little in life again. I remember watching ET on VHS tape while flicking through your amazing CD collections - while Mum cooked scones in your cute little kitchen and Dad fixed the log fire. Making wishes into the rainbow sea mist and feeding all your beautiful birds - watching out for Kenny the Koala. You were there when I needed you the most and now you're somehow gone. Your family are clearly the best people possible and I thank you so much for what you've given to all of us who have slept and lingered in your magic. Love to you all in Wye River.... See more
