22.01.2022 Something to get you in the mood for the The Dryandra Country Art, Food and Wine Trail. https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=2ZdHyaFyI9g

21.01.2022 Around Cuballing, WA. Cuballing was one of the original stations on the Great Southern Railway in WA. By 1903, a school and district hall had been appointed and... the town had its own Road Board and by 1906, two butcher shops, two banks, a hall, a post office, a coffee house, two blacksmiths, two churches, a boarding house and a hotel served the town's population. However, the town did not grow after the 1920s and in 1946 the primary school closed, meaning pupils had to travel to neighbouring towns. Some of the original buildings have been preserved and can still be seen today. See more

20.01.2022 Another talented artist, who will be displaying her stunning pieces at Rosedale Farm in Cuballing on the Dryandra Country Art, Food and Wine Trail this Mother'...s Day weekend, is Geire Kami. Geire is an established artist who is currently studying Fine Arts and has been exhibiting on the Trail since it began five years ago. Though her pieces range in subject matter, she is known for capturing the essence of the country lifestyle including local flora and fauna. We spent a few moments with Geire to ask her some questions about her art and inspirations. Where do you find inspiration? I can’t say exactly where I get inspiration from but I often work on paintings and illustrations for friends, so making a piece they will enjoy becomes my inspiration. I have very few paintings of my own. Do you have a favourite artist? I have too many favourite artists. I adore the post-war American artists like Rothko, Reinhardt, de Kooning, and Newman. This work played with the intellectual side of artistic practice and was very process driven. The sculptural work of Picasso is not very well known and it’s really other worldly, but in the last few months I have come to enjoy the work of Australian artist Geoffrey de Groen. You can view some of Geire's pieces at the beautiful Rosedale Farm in Cuballing on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 May. See more

09.01.2022 When you visit Sugar Gum Cottage at Rosedale Farm in Cuballing during your Trail discovery, you’re sure to enjoy the craft, art and photography of the talented ...Newman Family, who have been farming in the Cuballing area for more than 50 years. John and Robin Newman will have a range of useful arts and crafts available. Robyn will have her well-known and sought-after wool insulated steering wheel covers, fabric enhanced shopping bags, Insul-brite insulated pot holders, soft toys and patchwork wall hangings on display and for purchase. John will offer a great range of wooden kitchen aids, including cutting boards, all manufactured from re-cycled and salvaged wood. Be sure to look out for the Toast Tongs! He will also display some of his superb rugs and tapestries. Their grandson, the very talented Alex Newman will mount a debut exhibition of his stunning photographic works. Raised in Dryandra Country, Alex’s pieces are inspired by his farm upbringing as well as his travels through Australia and internationally. Although he considers his photography a creative outlet, his role as a commercial helicopter pilot provides him with photographic opportunities which give his subjects a far more exciting perspective. Alex’s works will be available for purchase. See more
