25.01.2022 To make this work we had to shorten the course so it was manageable for the volunteers. The course also had to be user friendly and carter for all skill levels from the beginner to the expert. The original course layout is still the same but just a smaller course has been developed within the course. The main focus is participation, introducing and getting people playing golf regardless of skill level. Its a course that has its risk and reward benefits for those who can hit t...he bill a long way, but with tight landing zones, small sand scrapes your aim better be on par. It still allows you to get every club out of the bag and give it a good ol swinging, also its great exercise. Just to give you an idea of the lengths each individual hole and overall course is marked out at. 15.01.2022 Here are some photos of the current works being under taken to restore the sand scrapes to playing conditions. Some need resanding, spraying weeds, mowing surrounds and some are being marked out for new ones to be implemented Having played off a handicap of 5 the biggest challenge to my game was mastering the sand scrape. ... 14.01.2022 Another successful afternoon at the RGC with more mowing being done around the course. Tees and surrounds: were done again just to keep the grass down. Some spraying to be done around the edges of tees to tidy them up. Fairways: Looking good after being mowed again. ... Sand scrapes: Coming along nicely in their development. They will now be the main focus in the next 2 to 3 weeks to get them up to scratch with some needing more attention than others. 10.01.2022 A new course has been developed with the existing RGC which will be more user friendly. 9 holes just over 2000m with 5 par 4's and 4 par 3's. One par 3 is 225m long to test out the pro within us all. All 9 Sandscrapes are at different stages of development but rest assured they will be up and playable soon. ... Mowing has started on fairways, surrounds and tees and a general clean up around the place. Driving Range is in development for those who just wish to come out and smack balls at fixed targets 100m, 150m and 200m rather than hack their way around the course. Either way we are hoping to bring you a multifunction facility that provides a safe, friendly environment and a great introduction to golf. Focusing on paricipation our hope is you come out and give golf a go. We will keep you updated along the way with future developments. Note this is all voluntary so please respect the facility.

07.01.2022 Just went out for a quick look at the progress taking place in regards to mowed fairways and it appears all 9 fairways have been mowed. Plus other additional holes unplayable at this stage but certainly not out of our future scope. We will try to hit the fairways again this Wednesday or Thursday to stay on top of things. A couple of tee areas have been moved, the rest will be done tomorrow afternoon. Stay tuned in, its a big job even with the altered course for a couple of ...volunteers. 04.01.2022 Hello everyone due to covid --19 the golf course was closed. As restrictions have now eased the golf course is open . 03.01.2022 9th hole oiled. It just leaves us 4,5,7 and 8 to go for front nine to be complete. Larry busy on the tractor trying to keep up with the mowing of the fairways. Won't be long before the front nine is playable, we will then have additional holes for the back. As you can see the 14th hole is sanded and marked out just needs to be oiled. I do have to say something about some one who drove in the course and made skids and wheel markings on the fer ways I must say NOT VERY SPORT'IS at all. we offer a golf course to play for FREE . and we do not appreciate YOU making a mass. SAME ON YOU .
