21.01.2022 Happy Australian Pollinator Week! " LETS CELEBRATE " The Australian Pollinator Week website has amazing resources for all of the family. Crosswords, Mazes, Colouring Sheets, Creating a pollinator habitat garden and many more.... TAG a friend with Children and then Pop over to APW website to join in the celebration. https://www.australianpollinatorweek.org.au/about/resources/

21.01.2022 Every individual can contribute to the preservation of bees and other pollinators: Plant nectar-bearing flowers for decorative purposes on balconies, terraces, and gardens. Buy only Australian made honey and hive products... Raise awareness among children and adolescents on the importance of bees and express your support for beekeepers. Set up a pollinator farm or ‘bee hotel on your balcony, terrace, or garden; you can either make it yourself or buy one from selected gardening stores. Mow your lawn or nature strip in the evening when bees are no longer foraging. Encourage mixed species lawns and nature strips that include clover and other flowers and allow them to flower before mowing. Substitute your grass-based lawns or nature strips with food producing plants that feed bees and people. Support farmers using sustainable methods of agriculture which is healthier for us and for soil, water, biodiversity and the climate. #worldbeeday2021 www.worldbeeday.org.au

19.01.2022 IS YOUR CUTTING BOARD FEELING DRY? Maintaining a cutting board is a quick and easy task that will keep your board looking new! Simply wash your cutting board with soap and warm water. After washing, dry immediately with a towel and let it air dry standing up in your dishrack to allow air flow.... If your board has stains or smells, you can sprinkle the board with Salt and rub in with Lemon or use vinegar to neutralize the fats causing the problem. Once your board is thoroughly dry, with a soft cloth apply using a circular motion covering the entire board. Wait for 10-30 minutes then remove any excess going with the grain of the wood. New or Dry Board - Be generous. Let the conditioner soak into the cutting board for a couple of hours or overnight which is better. We recommend you condition your cutting board every month or when dry to the touch. We make our Rosehaven Farms Beeswax Board Conditioner from our beekeeping headquarters in the Grampians and offer two different sizes 100g or 200g

12.01.2022 What was your first job? My first full time job (a long time ago) at the age of 14 years and 9 months. I earnt a whopping $70 a week and thought I was rich! I was employed by Prestige Holeproof, who was a major employer in our town back then. My roles when I was there was to sew ladies underwear.... Looking back on it now I think it taught me: 1. I should have stayed at school 2. You need to work to live. 3. Be punctual, turn up on time everyday as others rely on you. This was a good founding for the rest of my work life. 4. You are not working alone you are part of a team 5. Always appreciate your underwear, where it was made and give thanks to the person who has to sit there making it for you! 6. The Pride of being able to buy things for your family with money you earnt What was your first job and what did it teach you?

03.01.2022 Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy. Leo F. Buscaglia. I used to worry all the time, about people not thinking my products made from Beeswax were good enough to buy. Finally I realised it has been holding me back from doing what I love and that's creating with beeswax! ... Seriously! This worry has held me back for over a decade. Can you believe that! Well NOW is my time to do what I love and release these products to you in 2021! Is there something holding you back or worrying you, that you need to let go of?
