22.01.2022 An interesting study in early nutrition. I went into the paddock today to get a photo of Rose Hill Hush, a donor cow from whom we are selling embryos at the Scone Speckle Park Sale next week. When looking through the photos I found one that was particularly interesting. The cow in the foreground is Rose Hill Secret Rendezvous, Grand Champion Speckle Female at Sydney Royal 2019 and dam of Rose Hill Secrets Out a champion in his own right. The cow in the background is Rose Hil...l Hush, full ET sister to Secret, just 4 months younger. The two are incredibly alike, same colour pattern, same frame score, same head, same great feet and udder, same soft skin. Difference is Secret made it into the show team because of her age. She was fed expensive show feed while Hush faced survival drought rations. In this world of very well nourished Speckles it is the astute cattle person who recognises a diamond in the ruff. See more

22.01.2022 Like the rest of us, Hot Lips is tired of COVID and wants to get on the road to some shows. She is Zeppelin x OSP F06Y (Hawkeyes dams full sister). Lots of bone and frame. Even without the trailer she towers over her weaning group of purebreds and crossbreds.

21.01.2022 Our embryo offering at next weeks Scone Speckle Park Sale is a unique opportunity to acquire some outstanding proven genetics. These embryos are reluctantly for sale due our lack of recips following the drought. The dam of the embryos, Rose Hill Hush, is the full sister of Rose Hill Secret Rendezvous who was Grand Champion Speckle Female Sydney Royal 2019. The dam of these two is the most outstanding Six Star Rendezvous D27, my all time favourite cow and mother of several Champions. This time we have used JSF Wall Street, a bull we admired on property in 2018 and at Agribition last year for his incredible thickness and muscle pattern. An opportunity not to be missed.

21.01.2022 Rose Hill Speckle Park Stud is proud to present MX Dirty Deeds and MX El Guapo, two outstanding outcross Speckle Park bulls in time for spring joinings. Dirty Deeds needs no introduction- Grand Champion Speckle Bull at Lloyd, Grand Champion Speckle Bull at Farmfair 2018 and Reserve Champion Senior Bull at Agribition. His young stablemate MX El Guapo won his class at Agribition 2018 receiving special mention from the judge for his outstanding structure. Both bulls are available now for Aus and NZ.

21.01.2022 Had a great day yesterday at Mudgee Show. After his mother Rose Hill Secret Rendezvous, won Grand Champion Female last year with him the calf at foot, Rose Hill Secrets Out won Grand Champion Bull this time round. Stable mate Rose Hill Reba was Senior Champion Female, Grand Female and ultimately Supreme Beef Exhibit. Rest of the team were all awarded 1st or 2nd in their classes. Of course I forgot the camera again but Lindsey sent me through a couple of photos that he took. Hopefully well get one of Reba next time.

19.01.2022 "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds" Ha, that's the US Postal service creed but it also applied to us on the weekend delivering beautiful Speckle girls to their new owner in Narooma. It was especially hard to see Rose Hill Ace of Hearts go but we are absolutely sure that she will be well loved and will play an important role in the development of a new Speckle Stud. It was also satisfying to be able to teach newcomers to the breed how to take TSUs and do the paperwork to register their calves.

16.01.2022 Our new little girl is settling in well. With Max Graham and Roland Chibri we purchased Black Diamond 54Z Quadi at the Scone Sale yesterday. Really happy to add a female from the great River Hill Cinder 5M line to our breeding program. She is facing the new challenge of living with house dogs and poddy lambs like at star!

11.01.2022 Anyone recognize this stop spot in NSW? It was the beginning of our last leg home from a "quick" overnight trip to Black Diamond Speckle Parks, Vic delivering a few purebred Speckle Park steers for the crew there to prepare for this years Royals. Went down with hungry steers, came back loaded with hay, what could be better? Saw a lot of dust, then on the way back saw a lot! of rain but best of all we were treated to a tour of Black Diamond Speckle Parks. Awesome cattle, great people. They are having an Open Day on Feb 5th and if you can get there, it is well worth the trip!

10.01.2022 We were planning on putting the embryos from this lovely lady in ourselves. Unfortunately this unrelenting drought has other ideas. We have had to make the tough decision to sell most of our potential recips and as a result have for sale embryos from Rose Hill Chantilly Lace, ANP K13, to the following bulls: *Underhill All Out *PAR Throttle *JSF Continental These are all proven joinings. 09.01.2022 This is why the butchers love Speckle Park! EMA and IMF without the excess external fat. We had some cattle scanned yesterday, the Scone Sale bulls and some from the show team. The results were very impressive. These two 21 month old heifers were as follows- Rose Hill All About Me P14- P8 10mm, Rib 10mm, EMA 130 sq cm, IMF 7.8 Rose Hill Reba P8- 11mm, Rib 9, EMA 120 sq cm, IMF 8.0. Sale bull results were also impressive ANP P18- P8 13mm, Rib 8mm, EMA 127 sq cm, IMF 7.8... ANP P13- P8 9mm, Rib 7mm, EMA 130 sq cm, IMF 7.1 ANP P9- P8 8mm, Rib 5mm, EMA 120 sq cm, IMF 6.7 ANP P19- P8 8mm, Rib 5mm, EMA 120 sq cm, IMF 6.5 ANP P8- P8 6mm, Rib 4mm, EMA 136 sq cm, IMF 6.3 Fat results show that these bulls are far from being over prepared.
