25.01.2022 Ok so heres the thing ... Sheet masks are not created equal - trust me Ive tried many! Some things to consider: The effectiveness of the mask will depend on the ingredients the sheet is marinating in.... What are the ingredients? Are they of good quality? Are they in adequate concentrations to make a positive improvement? Are sophisticated formulations/delivery systems being utilised? . . A lot of these points are quite tricky for the average consumer to decipher, hence why I suggest purchasing from a trained professional ** pick me! . . One of the last sheet masks I trialled (gifted from a friend) had literally 1 ingredient that would be somewhat beneficial, though it was one of the last ingredients on the list. It was heavily fragranced, left my skin feeling sticky and gross I had to cleanse 3 times afterwards to get the smell and tacky feeling off my skin. HELL NO did I want that chemical shit storm further seeping into my precious pores . . So choose wisely! If youre purely sheeting for the selfie then go nuts. 22.01.2022 So whats the go with sheep placenta?! . . Ovine Placenta isnt a common skincare ingredient and definitely draws attention. We know its a rich source of bioactive nutrients - amino acids, epidermal growth factors, protein, nucleic acids, antioxidants and stem cells. .... . Studies show it to have regenerative effects, collagen stimulation, cell renewal and reduction of oxidative stress. . . In saying that, its not an overly researched ingredient.. in the same sense that consuming human placenta is quite taboo theres not enough evidence to back up the claims. Some parties are right into it, and can list a million benefits which they whole heartily believe in, whilst others would roll their eyes and not give it another thought. . . My take... I dont know enough about it but lets be real (and correct me if Im wrong) in a mask form I dont feel a lot of the ingredients are going to be bio available to the skin. Even if it was this super duper fountain of youth ingredient, a one off mask application isnt going to take years off your face. What it will do is hydrate, give you a beautiful glow and flash firming feel. Theres also 24k gold powder within it which is great for healing the skin and reducing inflammation. . . 18.01.2022 1 YEAR DOWN In true Rose fashion I thought my 1st anniversary was the 23rd of this month I worked out a couple of days ago that its actually today! . . Reflecting on past year I am so proud of how far Ive come, both professionally and personally.... . . I completely winged this whole business gig. The same day that I signed on to lease this premises, I put an offer in on a house. I was totally not preparing to do either - and didnt think I was in a position to have my house offer accepted.. next thing I know I have a business to build from scratch and a house to furnish with 5k to my name. To put things into perspective one of my first opening orders from a skincare brand was 3.5k . . Safe to say, my house sat bare. Its only been recently that Ive been able to comfortably spend money on things to put in my house Every cent I earned went back into growing the business. No loans just good old fashioned hard work, sacrifice and patience. . . Its been one of the hardest years of my life. For those who know me personally, know that my mental health took a major nose dive at the start of the year. With all the financial pressures of running a business, getting my head around all the new hats I had to wear with running a business, Im currently still embroiled in a legal battle with my family over my fathers estate - which I am the executor of. The financial pressures of managing a mortgage and household solo. Plus the pressure to perform at work - which admittedly I place on myself. Throw a car accident into the mix that wrote off my car and COVID as the cherry on top I think Id be crazy if I didnt go crazy! . . But Im finally at a point where things are on the up. I wouldnt actually change a thing about this past year. I have learnt SO much about business and myself. All the highs and lows have made me the most resilient and fearless person I know. My clients are AMAZING, the results Im achieving are AMAZING and I still pinch myself that Im actually living out my dream!? . . 16.01.2022 Quality Always There is often a misconception that taking care of your skin is pricey a venture. Whilst everyone’s budgets are understandably going to be different, I do believe that if having healthy beautiful skin is a goal of yours, it doesn’t need to be as costly as one may think. One common mistake I see is people having way too many sub par skincare products. ... 10 - 20+ products that have either been personally selected, gifted to them, purchased from a friend/relative/school mum that is selling MLM (multi level marketing) skincare or purchased from an influencer’s recommendation - we all should know by now they get paid to promote products. It can definitely work out to be an expensive experience with all that chopping and changing and trial and error. I feel this is what puts people off ... money spent with little to no reward. A lot of the time these products aren’t that cheap either, so it often baffles me why an educated professional’s recommendation isn’t as eagerly taken on board, as your bestie’s cousin’s sister that works at Myer. It’s just like anything really, investing in quality can be a bit more of an outlay initially but if done correctly you will be rewarded with skincare that is actually beneficial, it will last longer, and you will save $$$ (and time) by having a condensed routine. 09.01.2022 SKIN CARE SPOTLIGHT @cosmedix Purity Clean Cleanser . . This stuff cannot stay on my shelves long enough! Its my top selling cleanser and my personal fave why? Its just so damn good for a variety of skins.... . . Formulated for oily, problematic, dull/lifeless or pigmented skins. Its actives include L-Lactic acid, tea tree and peppermint oil. . . Due to lactic acid being used as the exfoliating acid, its not as harsh or drying as other exfoliating cleansers Ive worked with/used. Lactic acid hydrates as well as exfoliates so I find its great for congestion and blackheads as again sometimes other acids will dehydrate the skin and actually trap the congestion, instead of releasing it . . 07.01.2022 RESULTS ARENT ALWAYS VISIBLE Now dont get me wrong - I LIVE for a great before and after. However I do have some clients who arent necessarily striving for improvement within their appearance. . . This lovely lady (whos progress photos I cant wait to share once the time is right) has been battling a diabetes related wound. What started out as a small pimple.. TEN YEARS AGO was picked, never healed (due to poor wound healing abilities associated with diabetes) and s...pread, and spread and spread . . It has been on and off infected over the years. Flares up, itches and burns from trialling so many different topicals at the chemist or from her GP and specialist. It unfortunately now takes up the half the of the side of her face . . We are only 1 month into her treatment plan. She has already made huge improvements in such a short amount of time. She no longer wakes up to a bloody pillow. She would usually take up to 8 anti histamines per day to help with the itching. She explained that she would usually buy 2 x 20packs of antihistamines which would last 2 weeks. She a purchased a 20 pack 2 weeks ago and today still has 12 left! . . She still has far to go in her skin journey, but told me today she was OVER THE MOON with her improvements already. She said if this were to be the extent of her results she would be more than happy as we have already achieved what she thought was impossible!! 07.01.2022 BEFORE & AFTER 14 days between photos. 1 treatment and 1 skincare product HAPPY DANCE . . This gorgeous girl got in contact with me 2 weeks ago as her skin had been breaking out. This was something completely new to her, she mentioned previously she would only ever experience 1-2 spots every 6months!... . . She started experiencing breakouts, flare ups and angry/inflamed skin after completing a naturopath led detox - makes sense as your skin is your largest excretory organ and would be expelling all those toxins. Nonetheless it was getting her down, so something had to be done! . . I always approach inflammatory acne with a less is more approach. 06.01.2022 BEFORE & AFTER Can you believe only 10 weeks between photos ?! This beauty came to me wanting to address her post breakout marks AKA - PIHP (post inflammatory hyper pigmentation). Being a darker skin colouring we do have limitations with treatments and must select treatments carefully. Preparation is key ... At our consultation I sent her home with a few products to prepare her skin for my recommend treatment plan. I requested 4 weeks of home-care before our first treatment to maximise results & limit complications. Three corrective treatments were performed at 2 week intervals. We completed this treatment plan just in the nick of time, as my client was presented an opportunity to move interstate.
