25.01.2022 On Sunday we're off to Canberra for the launch of a new rose, 'Adam Burgess', that we have had propagated from a variety we imported from Heather Horner in the UK. More reports on our return.

25.01.2022 Don't forget our upcoming birthday celebrations and Heritage Rose display

23.01.2022 At the plant fair at Riversdale homestead in Goulburn earlier today, selling some of our wares and promoting Heritage Roses in Australia's 40th birthday celebrations at Harper's Mansion, Berrima, NSW on the 15th and 16th November. ps. the heavens opened afterwards, and all we got was a measly 4mm at Fitzroy Falls. UGH!

18.01.2022 Looking forward to an exceptional spring this year with some wonderful varieties to sell, and our local heritage roses group has some wonderful garden visits planned. Must get the bus serviced as its got a few thousand kilometres to cover between now and the end of November, with trips to Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Adelaide in the pipeline!!!

16.01.2022 Some interesting pictures from the National Rose Trial Gardens in Adelaide last week, especially from our point of view.

16.01.2022 Finally the sun has disappeared and we have low cloud cover, although only a measly 3 mms of rain!! On a brighter note, looking to the future, we will be importing in January 2020 the 'Nelson Mandela' rose, which after quarantine, trials and propagation of a commercial quantity, should be available in winter 2022. It's an orange vermillion floribunda, which was bred in the UK by the late Colin Horner of Horner Roses, for whom we are the Australian agents.

13.01.2022 Dam full after 80mm odd of rain, so barring devastating heat through the summer, should have enough water for nursery stock to last a twelve month.

12.01.2022 The world lost another great rosarian a couple of days ago with the passing of Sam McGredy IV. He was larger than life, both in stature and personality, and left us a legacy of some wonderful roses. May he rest in peace.

12.01.2022 As a tribute to an old and dear friend who passed away earlier this year, our Rose of the Month for November is the magnificent rose known as "David Ruston's White Rambler". We noticed it growing at David's garden in Renmark several years ago and even David didn't know its name, so it was given the 'found' name it bears today. The nearest registered rose to it is 'Lady Blanche', the 1913 rambler by Michael Walsh of Woods Point, New York.

10.01.2022 Our rose of the month for October (I can't believe its October already!!) is the irrepressible multiflora hybrid, 'Ghislaine de Feligonde'. Bred in 1916 by Eugene Turbat of Orleans, it has rapidly become one of our favourites, and is a great granddaughter of Peter Lambert's wonderful 'Aglaia'.

09.01.2022 Well, what some wild weather we're having. The two large, old eucalypts that stood either side of the front gate like sentinels are now down to one, as the othe...r came down on Saturday afternoon in the wind, bringing the power lines with it and destroying some of our Belgian rose collection. No electricity for 25 hours! Thank heaven we can still enjoy the wonders of nature...... See more

07.01.2022 The rose of the week for w/e 5th May is one of my top five roses, the bourbon/HP/early HT 'Mme. Moser' (no-one seems to know or agree on her classification). Na...med for the wife of a well-known Versailles horticulturalist, she was bred by Alcide Vigneron in 1889. She has proven a difficult rose to grow and propagate, but I grow her as a standard and she has survived for 12 years, producing the most awesome rosy white blooms with a superb fragrance. Even then, with her 125 petals, she can tend to ball in inclement weather. But persistence has paid off, and every year I am rewarded with glorious flowers from one of the most beautiful roses it's been my privilege to own. See more

07.01.2022 Our rose of the month for September is the glorious old hybrid perpetual 'Mme Ferdinand Jamin' from M. Ledechaux, Villecresne, France in 1875 (a.k.a. 'American Beauty' and "Sydney Linton"). It is tall, upright and the blooms are huge with an even bigger fragrance. An awesome heritage rose!
