24.01.2022 Between running days the volunteers keep at the tasks to keep the railway working. Track work is very important and is always requires constant attention. 21.01.2022 OPEN DAY SUN 25 Feb 18 CANCELLED A decision has been made (18.30PM Fri 23 Feb) to CANCEL the Open Day Event and Monthly Running Day programmed for Sun 25 Feb, due Safety Considerations associated with the probable continued heavy weather over the weekend. The event will be postponed and rescheduled, and advice given to effect these changes by the issue of a new Event via the Rosewood Railway Facebook page and Rosewood Railway Website.

21.01.2022 Many years ago the members of the Australian Railway Historical Society and members of the Rosewood Railway saved many items and spare parts that were destined to be cut up for scrap as Queensland railways disposed of them. Some of these items are to find a new home and to be used by like minded heritage railway operators in Queensland. Recently some carriage bogies were loaded for use at another railway. One of the old steam locomotives which was rescued from a park in Brisbane will be also soon to be craned out and utilsed for spare parts at another heritage railway. A lot goes on behind the scenes due to the hard work of the volunteers.

13.01.2022 Rosewood Railway Situation Briefing Saturday Afternoon, 6 Oct 18 Kunkala Station Platform As the Weather swept across the Station Yard

13.01.2022 After 9 years in development hopefully it has been worth the wait! Today we welcomed DH38 back to operations on the Rosewood Railway. While there is still more work to do on the cab and obviously painting, it is all mechanically complete and fit for service. This is a great step forwards to our return to operations in the eventual future. We hope to keep you updated as more work progresses.

13.01.2022 As advised at our recent briefing no work can be undertaken by anyone at the Rosewood Railway until they have undertaken our workplace safety induction. This process will take approximately 1 hour and provides members, volunteers and workers with an overview of the relevant information to ensure the safety of all workers on our sites. Our first induction session will be carried out at 10.30am on Saturday the 20th October at the Kunkala Station - Freeman Road Ashwell. We encourage everyone who has an interest in working at the Rosewood Railway to attend this session so we can return to carrying out site work including mowing, painting and facilities maintenance.

12.01.2022 The "Bug" shed is coming along. To give the new shed a resemblance to the original Bug (RM64) shed which was located at the Mayne Junction Railway yard the Rosewood volunteers are using recycled corrugated iron on a brand new frame. Mean while the Bugs detailed restoration is underway at the Ipswich Railway Historical Workshops.

08.01.2022 B13 No.398 or more affectionately known as ‘Pompey’, was the mainstay shunter of Ipswich Workshops for many years. In 1968, close to the end of its career (along with steam in general on the QGR) it was put on a number of enthusiast specials. One of these being on the Marburg Branch (by then shortened to Birru). This later became the Rosewood Railway. It can be seen here coming into the curve at Kunkala. There are great views from the top of this ridge that can still be en...joyed today. 07.01.2022 Come join us, meet some new mates and be part of bringing the Rosewood Railway back to life! As works continue to reopen we need your help! Our to do list is ...varied, and as such we are looking for people with a wide range of skills, but the plan is moving forward is as follows with much excitement. Rolling stock work priorities will be covered in their respective posts, but currently this is where we stand with Infrastructure. Track Infrastructure: We are currently working on grass clearing and poison spraying of the track. Work will then be required for the installation of steel sleepers, so we can work towards track inspection and certification. Between Cabanda and Kunkula an electric staff system will be implemented. This will require the repair of lineside wires to and the instruments certified. The Frogs Hollow area where some rolling stock is stored will also have work done for vegetation management. Stations: At Cabanda Station we will need to repair vandalism and damage to male toilet and station office. At Kunkala Station a clean up will be required in order for a new toilet block to be installed. If you or anyone else are able to assist us with these works, please contact us at https://www.rosewoodrailway.org.au/contact-us/ We are always looking for people with a wide range of skills to come along to our work days and help reopen one of the West Moretons best attractions.

06.01.2022 Whilst our volunteers are still working hard to repair track infrastructure and rollingstock for the Rosewood Railway to return to service the ARHSQD is still operating mainline tours with the QR Heritage Fleet. Our next trip is on Sunday the 23rd February to Grandchester. Please visit https://www.sunshineexpress.org.au//s/bigges-camp-express/ for all the details and to book tickets...
