How about connect Busselton to Bunbury via Shire of Capel coastal communities through Dalyellup Stratham Peppi beach Ludlow ? Gelorup now connects to Dalyellup through to Bunbury and onto Australind etc Maybe eventually continue to connect Capel to Peppi beach and Boyanup to Capel ?... What’s your thoughts ? See more

17.01.2022 ***FIRE AWARENESS EVENING*** Monday 5th Oct, 4:30pm - 7:00pm Gelorup VBFB shed, Hasties Rd Need some help forming a fire plan for the upcoming fire season? Mayb...e you need some clarification with mandatory fire break specs? Do you want to know what you need to do to obtain a permit to burn when the restricted season starts? Want to know what's involved in joining a BFB? All these questions and any others you may have can be answered at our annual fire awareness evening. Representatives from DFES and the Shire of Capel that specialise in fire mitigation will be attending, as will our own FCO's. Earlier in the year we received a $500 voucher from Coles as part of their kind gesture to all BFB's. We will be using that to provide a FREE SAUSAGE SIZZLE for all comers and lollies for the kids (alright, lollie lovin' adults can have some too). There will also be give aways for the kids like stickers, colour in books, posters...that sort of thing. We'll also park the trucks out the front for the kids to look through, get photos, and MAYBE use the hose. Please, come along and ask your questions, get a snag and meet your local Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade. We'd love to see you there. Stay safe. (Feel free to share this far and wide or tell your non FB neighbours)

04.01.2022 R U OK ? Day Here’s some helpful tips for engaging with someone after asking them. Have that conversation.

02.01.2022 Today with my Granddaughter and Father, we visited the NAIDOC WEEK celebration event organised for the Shire of Capel and held at the Dalyellup Community Hall. There was bush food and damper to try with your cuppa, a Childrens activity table, cultural artefacts and a fantastic information stand. Sandra Hill conducted a lovely Welcome to Country then we were treated to cultural dance performances. My granddaughter was mesmerised the whole time watching their performances of... kangaroos, emu’s, the story of the 2 Dijdi Dijdi in a nest when a Magpie comes by harassing them, as she’s very interested animals at the moment and loves our native birds especially those 2. Well done and Thank you all to those involved in today’s event and I look forward to next years. Photo credit to the very helpful Shire Staff member Donna Simms See more
