16.01.2022 Well, it’s done ! 96 Blankets, Pillows and Pillow cases delivered to the village, one for every single person who lives in this haven of broken but beautiful pe...ople. It was a bit of a task coordinating this one, a big thank you to Rain Ny for filling such a large order so quickly, a huge thank you to and Cathy Packanen and Leigh Packanen for taking on the challenge with me, but particularly helping with the transport and delivery. The biggest thank you of all goes to the 37 wonderfully kind and generous individuals who contributed to this most worthwhile project, it may only be a pillow and blanket to us, but for these people it is much, much more !! There are sufficient funds remaining to buy next month’s food parcel for each family, so more photos to follow. 06.01.2022 Sometimes it’s the simple things in life !!! You all know my passion for the people in the village, they receive rice, water and food every month, we have start...ed breeding chickens, ducks, and frogs, we have the sewing machines hard at work, we grow rice to sell at the market and now we have started on our way to breeding pigs, well we’ve got one pig for now !! Small steps but a massive difference in 12 months ! I was aiming at buying all 99 people in the village a pillow, pillow case and blanket for Christmas, but Christmas is too far away, it’s actually (Cambodian) cold right now, overnight it dropped to 18degrees, the locals are freezing while we expats rejoice in the small break from the sun and humidity. Thought I’d share and invite you all to be involved, the cost of the pillow, pillow case and blanket is $20aud, if you would like to buy a most deserving person a most sensible and reasonable gift I’d love to hear from you.
