25.03.2022 Amethyst created with Blender 3.0 Cycles. Last year on the 14 December, Julie, my wife and I, celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary, The stone for 47 years marriage is an Amethyst. It is found in the Bible. It is one of the precious stones in the breastplate of the high priest. There were 4 rows of stones and the Amethyst is found in the 3rd row. Exodus 28:17-21 says Mount four rows of gemstones on it.... The third row will contain ... a purple amethyst.... Each stone wil...l represent one of the twelve sons of Israel, and the name of that tribe will be engraved on it like a seal. The tribe of Gad is represented by the Amethyst. They were great warriors, faithful to God and to their commitments to others. The literal meaning of Amethyst is not intoxicated its name translates from the Greek word améthystos. So it’s name carries the idea of being sober and strong and well grounded in life. I think after 47 years, our marriage is well grounded spiritually and there is a beauty in the way in which we have learned to relate to each other and our family. An Amethyst has a unique purple coloration. Purple is the colour of Royalty in the Bible. A purple robe was placed on Jesus to mock Him at His trial, but instead it showed Him for who He really is, King of kings and Lord of lords. The Bible says that followers of Christ are also of royal blood. We are priests and kings. Julie and I are honoured by and grateful for Christ’s sacrifice, the gospel, and we see that Jesus is the only hope for the world gone mad. An Amethyst contains iron. The Bible speaks about how iron sharpens iron. Christ has sharpened us and Julie and I have sharpened each other along the way. I am a better person with Christ as my King and with Julie as my wife. I am so grateful to God for bringing her into my life. 47 years! Heading towards the 50 mark. We really are growing old together. I am stronger, younger, and able to remember things better, with her.
