24.01.2022 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 countdown - 7 days to go! This time next week we will know who the 2020 Bathurst winner will be and who knows what will have been thrown up at this year’s Great Race. 2017 saw the honoring of some great names of the past; men who had tackled the Mountain for the glory of being crowned winner of the Bathurst 1000; or as it was previously known as the Bathurst 500 (miles). Prior to the 2017 race start, we were very privileged to meet and chat with some of the men who are now known as Bathurst Legends.

20.01.2022 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 countdown - 10 days to go! Ooooh it’s getting closer now - woo hoo. Well, lesser excitement for those of us in Lockdonw2.oooh who can’t go Tonight let’s look at the 2012 Great Race and the strong pairing of #ShanevanGisbergen & #LukeYoulden in the SBR No.9 Ford FG Falcon. Starting from 3rd on the grid and being very fast for most of the race, the pair ended up tight 12th, just 57 seconds behind the close finish of #JamieWhincup and 0.31 seconds ahead of David Reynolds. I hope that you’re enjoying going down memory lane with me as much as I am, going through all my hundreds of thousands of images from the Great Race and then finalizing the selection down to who and when. I LOVE my job :-)

17.01.2022 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 countdown - 8 days to go! This time next week we will know who has won the Top 10 Shoot Out and likely favorite for the 2020 Great Race. Me? I got my money on the #17 DJR Team Penske Mustang of Scott McLaughlin and a new pole lap record! Who is with me and who do YOU predict? I’m very interested in your thoughts please The 4000 privileged spectators that will be spaced out at the bottom of the mountain for this year’s Great Race will need to make LOTS of noise to make up for the rest of us that cant attend. Over all the years I have been to the mountain, it still makes me smile at the ingenuity and creativity of the many spectators and how much fun these people have! Here are a few of the many that have placed their individuality on the race and the massing of many spectators can you see yourself?

15.01.2022 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 countdown - 9 days to go! A GREAT BIG SHOUT-OUT to the amazing volunteers! Without this courageous, dedicated, self-sacrificing and self-funded group of people, we wouldn’t have the Great Race! These incredible people who travel from all over this country and overseas, to get up before sparrow-fart, usually the first at the track to sign on & then be on track ALL DAY & out in all weather and then stay until the last car has called it a day. Over... the many years I have been fortunate to see these great people at so many tracks across Australia and am amazed at their passion for this fantastic sport; to travel this great land and all at their own expense! I would encourage you to consider becoming a motorsport volunteer as you will be trackside and AS CLOSE as possible to the cars and teams and drivers; working alongside passionate & like-minded people. 06.01.2022 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 countdown - 11 days to go! 2018 ended up the Great Race of the veterans - #CraigLowndes & #SteveRchards. In his final start at the Great Race as a full-time driver, CL and Richo were paired up in the Triple Eight Race Engineering #888 #Autobarn commodore. With 12 Bathurst 1000 wins between them, the 2 veterans capitalized on the late race leader #DavidReynolds as he succumbed to cramps, handing the lead over to the #888 car to ultimately win by 6.29 seconds, with #ScottPye & #WarrenLuff 2nd and with a maiden podium to #ScottMcLaughlin & #AlexPremat in 3rd.
