25.01.2022 Over 10 years of filming weddings, and I still get a kick out of doing this. Heres why: No couples are the same. No wedding is the same. Its your day. Do you. That means I get to create something unique. ... Every. Single. Time. Bridgette & Rick invited me along to film their day, and Im so glad. Having both been married before, this meant they werent getting married because they felt they should, but because they absolutely wanted to. You couldnt get more pure than that. They celebrated at Virgara Wines, then had a BBQ at home with their loved ones, and remembering the loved ones who couldnt be there.

23.01.2022 Trent and Hannah's original reception wedding venue was in the extreme fire danger zone the night before their wedding day, along with most of Kangaroo Island. The Ravine Fire flared up again the evening before the wedding. I was in my hotel in Kingscote (the only safe evacuation zone), listening to the emergency services on the radio until 3am. Things weren't sounding good. The smoke from the fires was filling the room. I had towels under doors trying to stop it. I messaged... Hannah to see how she was doing. She was concerned that Trent and the boys accommodation was in the fire zone. I woke up the morning of the wedding day, and everything had changed. The boys moved to new accommodation by 2am that morning and everything at the wedding venue had been picked up and moved to a new venue in Kingscote. Throughout all this, you couldn't have had a more calm, chilled and understanding Bride and Groom. These two were going to get married no matter what. It was one of the most memorable wedding days I've had. Something I hope no one else ever has to encounter on their day, but something that made Trent and Hannahs so unique. In this film I really wanted to capture the setting. The beautiful island, the horrible devastation, and the beauty a wedding day can bring. The day turned out remarkable. Nothing was on schedule, or as originally planned - it didn't matter. Trent and Hannah were married and partied all night long. It was a celebration like no other. The biggest VIP of the day goes to Kangaroo Island Designer Weddings. Brooke had the most difficult job, but absolutely nailed it - without creating any stress for anyone. Not sure what the day would have been without her. Kangaroo Island Yacht Club accepted the last minute change of venue, and provided a stunning location to be married and celebrate. Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Oil Distillery were the original venue and had every intention to host the wedding up until the night before when they literally couldn't. Rosemary Photography was an absolute pleasure to work with. As an island local, she was able to focus on the job during this difficult time, get some beautiful shots, and make the day more enjoyable for all. 18.01.2022 That's a photo of me doing my thing. Don't worry, whenever I'm focused and in the zone I look grumpy. I'm not! So just over a year ago I started this little venture, officially. (I've been doing it as a side project for many years and was never confident enough to share my work).... In just over a year I have met some amazing people through this and since 2019 is coming to an end I'd like to take a moment to write a post about them. Firstly, the couples... To be asked if I can be there to record and create something to reflect one of their most important days of their life is such a huge honour. Its something I really take pride in. To the couples who I was lucky enough to film in 2019. You've all been amazing. You've welcomed me, and allowed me to point a camera at you and your families and friends for a whole day. I appreciate it. Thank you for allowing me the creative freedom to create something unique for you. To those who have theirs - thank you so much for your kind words. To those who I'm currently looking at every day on my Mac as I edit away, I can't wait to share this with you. To those who have booked me for 2020 and beyond, I can't wait to create something unique to reflect you and your day. To the Wedding Industry vendors... I never knew an industry could be so incredibly intertwined. I've met some incredible photographers, wedding planners, venue coordinators, stylists, makeup artists, florists etc and it's been so amazing to be working with you all. I'm inspired by the craft of so many others in this industry. To the other Wedding Videographers / story tellers... So many of you have been in contact with me and complimented my work. It's been beyond belief that where people may see competition, there is an amazing sense of community. At the family home in Echunga, Shannon married Jake and celebrated with friends and family on a beautiful day that I was fortunate to be shooting alongside the ultra-talented Chasing Eve Photography, and being well fed by the mouth-watering Daisy Burger.

16.01.2022 This was quite a unique edit for me. I usually edit with the intent of the film being a bit of a rollercoaster. Starting with the high energy parts of the the day, and getting down to an emotional point before rising back up again. In talking to Hannah and Paschal over a beer at the pub before their big day, it was clear that they wanted their film to be more classical. Something romantic, amorous and picturesque. Having their ceremony in the Adelaide Botanic Garden featuring... the beautiful sounds of Amicus Strings, and the preperation and reception in the Pullman Adelaide, I had the opportunity to edit between the contrasting cityscape and naturescape in a film that encapsulates not only the day that was, but the love between these two. Thanks to Story Studio for being a legend to work with on the day.

This film features an absolutely beautiful snippet from Jake & Amy Music.... Couldn't have been the awesome day it was without working along side Dave Pascoe.
