25.01.2022 Congratulations to the thousands of students across Victoria who have taken part in the Premiers’ Reading Challenge this year! Signed certificates from Premier Daniel Andrews and former premiers are now being sent out to those who completed the challenge. The Premiers’ Reading Challenge was established to inspire more children to read, helping to build essential literacy skills that support their education.... More than 3 million students have read more than 51 million books since it began. To complete the challenge, students in Years 3 to 10 needed to read at least 15 books in the six months from March to September. For Prep to Year 2 students, the challenge was to read or experience 30 books.

20.01.2022 Licence testing will resume in Melbourne as we move to Step Three of the roadmap, with work well underway to deliver these tests in a timely, safe way. Six extra testing sites will open to tackle the backlog bringing the total to 12 new sites across Melbourne since June and a further 180 licence testing officers will be employed to support the expansion, taking the total number of new staff to more than 380. VicRoads Customer Service Centres and testing sites across Mel...bourne will deliver up to 11,000 licence tests and 16,500 computer tests per week once all new sites are open. The State Labor Government’s new Better At Home program will help to meet growing demand for healthcare through increased delivery of hospital services in patients’ homes. Better at Home will give more patients the opportunity to recover from illness or surgery at home in the comfort and familiarity of family and friends. ... Through Better at Home, up to 50,000 chemotherapy appointments could be delivered in living rooms across Victoria, or 50,000 days Victorians previously spent in hospital recovering or undertaking rehabilitation can be done from the comfort of home freeing up around 160 hospital beds.

Here's some key highlights: Extra lanes in each direction between Mickleham Road and the Hume Highway; New intersection upgrades and traffic lights, including Dorchester Street and Cimberwood Drive intersections; Bus priority lanes, safety barriers and shared paths.... Major Road Projects Victoria are responsible for the delivery of the project and will provide local residents with an update next month as the project delivery phase finally kicks off for this long-awaited project. And it has become more important than ever to foster connection to community and culture. We're investing $250,000 to support Aboriginal-led organisations to deliver programs that respond to the immediate social and emotional needs of young Aboriginal Victorians.... Grants of up to $50,000 are available for youth-led projects that foster individual talents and leadership, strengthen identity, culture and faith, enable community participation and create pathways to education, training and employment. 04.01.2022 Yesterday, there were 3 new local cases and 1 internationally acquired case reported, with 32,468 test results received.
04.01.2022 The first wave of Year 5 to Year 8 students participating in a 10-week intensive $10.1 million Victorian High-Ability Program will start in Term 4. More than 3,500 high-ability Victorian students at government primary and secondary schools will start an educational extension program in Term 4 to reach their full potential. The Victorian Government has partnered with more than 20 expert education and not-for-profit organisations, universities, tech schools, teacher association...s, science and mathematics specialist centres to deliver the program. Up to 48,000 students are expected to take part in the extension program between now and December 2022. The program will be run by Virtual School Victoria and will be followed by a masterclass with students from their local area. Schools can also nominate high-ability students to participate in a range of free and high-quality extension activities according to their abilities and interests through the new Victorian Challenge and Enrichment Series.
