These assemblies are made up of the damping mass and the RB crank hub, bonded using natural rubber on multiple planes. When fully assembled the damper mass will also be supported on the opposing faces with o-rings, not only providing increased surface contact and improved vibration transfer but also providing a serviceable component of the damper, increasing its life span. The o-ri...ngs also provide a reliable indicator of how severe the harmonics are, if you see the o-rings wearing rapidly, this indicates they are under stress and seeing above average vibration. New tooling and a little @mastercamcadcam programming put to work, to make a more complex pan at the same price point as the older, simpler design. And it looks better. The through ports allow flexible plumbing options when space is tight or when used in engine conversions. The extra ports also allow for Turbo & Head Drains to return directly into the sump. The old, soft washers have a history of wearing thin with modern power levels. This loosens the tension on the crank bolt and allows movement & vibration on the crank nose. 09.01.2022 Our set of 1JZ VVTi Cam Covers turned up this morning and the design team didn't mess about getting stuck into reverse engineering. The scan data from the #Kreon measuring arm is accurate to within a bees dick (approx 0.01mm) and allows us to quickly go from measure to design to prototype. The data also gives us a full picture of the part in 3D space to ensure our upgrades & modifications fit within the OEM footprint and do not interfere with anything. 05.01.2022 After the #TechFeature from Motive DVD we have seen a few comments and questions around the idea of pumping losses. Pumping losses is essentially the resistance on pistons increasing the energy required to pump. The discussion centres around a Dry Sump System creating vacuum and if that reduces pumping losses, sort of "pulling" the piston down. Which arguably increases the energy required to raise the piston also, however it is less to do with the amount of vacuum that is a...chieved and more to do with the removal of the air (full of blow by gases and oil vapor) from the crank case. By removing some of the air, the pump reduces the amount of resistance and drag on the pistons and crank shaft and it is this that reduces pumping losses.
